Am I alone on TheNewBatmanAdventures?

Not at all... I love The New Batman Adventures.

Granted it's not as good as Batman: The Animated Series... but then I feel that with only 24 episodes, it never really had a chance to grow.

Majority of the designs are good, wonderful atmosphere and spectacular animation.

Really great show...

BTAS destroys it, and the art of TNA is really weak for me, I didnt really like it at all.

Give me some time. When I was little I sure as hell did. I'm currently rewatching all of it. I'm almost done Volume 1.

I enjoy it. But not as much as B:TAS, but TNBA did have some great episodes that matched the quality of the earlier issues. For example: Mad Love, Judgment Day, Over the Edge, Never Fear, and Old Wounds.

I absolutely loved TNBA. My only problem with is the Joker design, which is far weaker than the BTAS one. Why not keep it? The black ovals for eyes are not as expressive nor intimidating as the yellow eyes circled in black from BTAS. And the lips, or should I say, lack of lips, really is the thing that makes his design a catastrophe.

Other than that, the look and animation are above those from BTAS to me, I especially like the episode The Legends of the Dark Knight of course, with its numerous references to the different eras of Batman comics.

My favourite re-design: The Scarecrow. I can't say how much I love him in this. He is truly scary. In BTAS, he used fear and his face was disturbing, but the rest of his suit was a bit goofy. None of that goofiness in TNBA! He's the goddamn grim reaper in it!

I also really dig Batman's re-design, with the large black emblem instead of the yellow oval (Damn, I'll never like that oval, ever).

I guess both BTAS and TNBA each have enough qualities to call it a tie in my book, but I really do love TNBA as much as I do BTAS. The thing that BTAS had and that I thought was lacking in TNBA is the 1940s-1950s feel in the architecture, vehicles, gangsters and cops. And of course, BTAS has so many episodes that it's very easy to find at least 10 episodes of absolute awesomness in it, while TNBA offers less really great episodes.

Aww man, Scarecrow's new design was AWESOME! You had no idea how much I loved awaiting for episodes with him when I was little! The thing is, while some characters got some good designs, we had crappy design turns like the Riddler.

My one big complaint about TNBA was that a lot of good villains seemed to be shelved and I wish the show went longer that way those characters could be developed more.

i love the redone Bruce Timm Batman :)

scarecrow was WAY better, and the animation was great. even though I like the old style joker more, I still love the sharp little Mr.J :)

Paul Dini is the BEST!

its a tough call, just because there was so much more TAS. i loved it and it had some of my fav episodes and i liked the art style SO MUCH BETTER.

if there was more episodes i would most likely say it was better, but there just isn't enough to know if it could've kept going as good as it was.

I liked the seeing Firefly, the Robin and Batman redesigns, and the appearances of Creeper and Jason Blood.

I loved the darker tone of TNBA. And the artwork was more in jive with the rest of the DCAU.
But I still think that BTAS had the superior animation.
It's a tough call really.

BTAS has better, more fluid animation, buy TNBA sets up a consistency.

I really don't remember The New Batman Adventures too much. I remember TAS pretty vividly though. I'd really have to watch TNBA again to judge it.

No if anything TNBA has the superior animation as it's more freeforming and flexible. Way more detailed as a whole but I prefer the narrative structure of the BTAS episodes as well as the production design.

i love both show the same.
the one thing i didnt like was that batgirl was in more episodes than robin and nightwing in the tnba.

I thoroughly enjoyed TNBA.

As others have mentioned, the Joker's redesign was a big step down from his design in BTAS. I wish they'd used the one he had in the Justice League episodes. I loved the Scarecrow's redesign. He looked truly creepy, and Jeffrey Combs was much better suited at voicing him, IMO. Wasn't crazy about Ivy's redesign. The Riddler's was awful. Not that he was used properly in TNBA anyway.

The episodes were on the whole great. A couple of exceptions would be Critters and Animal Act. The Mad Hatter controlling circus animals for use in crimes was lame. I did like Dick's scenes back in his family circus, though.

I like a lot of these episodes, not more than BTAS but there is some really good ones. Mad Love is probably my favorite. Never Fear was great because Batman was kinda the bad guy for once. And yeah the Scarecrow redisign was killer.

I kinda like the new Riddler design. He looks like he could actually fight someone. But didnt he only appear in two episodes?

While B:TAS was miles ahead in wirting and animation(though overall the B:TAS was pretty choppy at times) I really think of BTAS AND TNBA as the same thing due to it contiuning the show, so when i think of B:TAS its both shows.

No, IMO this is better than TAS, I like art direction in this one.
Blasphemy! :oldrazz:

TNBA had it's faults, I'll just copy and paste my post from the BTAS thread.
Conroy's "public" Bruce voice was a lot better in BTAS compared to the one we hear in TNBA.

As for the character redesigns Scarecrow was the one I really liked. Bane had that dominatrix appearance, Ivy's skin tone was vampire like, and I still don't know what the hell was the point of Catwoman's blue mouth. As for the Riddler like Joker said he just looked awful. Besides all that TNBA is still a better show than most of the action cartoons now a days.

Love the Scarecrow design:

But they really lost something with their Joker design:

love both of them, but the new series gave me my all time favorite episode, forgot what the title was (Feat of Clay?) but that story where Tim Drake falls in love with the girl with the missing memory, who turns out to BE a part of Clayface just made me read Tim Drake comics.
