Am I the only one not bothered by the length?

I hear people complaining that the movie is too long. Honestly...I didn't have a problem with the length.

HOWEVER, I do acknowledge that once this film is aired on network and basic cable it's gonna be HORRIBLE.

There's 90-minute Bond films like Goldfinger that get stretched into 3 hours which is ridiculous in my opinion. So, I can only imagine the fate that lays upon Casino Royale. In fact...it'll probably end up like OHMSS. I love OHMSS but sometimes I just can't watch it! On TV they strecth it into like 5 hours! Ridiculous, man!

I had no problems with this.

I thought it was 2 hours. But after I read info about length, I was sureprised.

Me neither. Actually I wish the scene where he finds out wherer "Mr. White" is and kills him was a little longer.

The running time was just fine. Never felt it go by.

You guys should see ITV (UK TV) they cut a lot to fit their timetable, this is why you go buy DVDs to see longer length.

I think the long lenght was appropriate for the movie, and actually should be the case for every Bond movie.

i was entertained the whole 2 and a half hours....i have no problem with the running time what-so-ever.

The time flew by, no bother at all.I was enjoying myself too much to think about the time:up:.

2 1/2 Hours wasn't bad at all.
I enjoyed it, and it didn't get slow pace at all.

there was about a half an hours worth of footage that was cut.

Bond and Vesper driving the Aston through the countryside and their conversation( pictures from the set)
Bond and Vesper's naked swim
The torn ace
Bond falling down the steps of the casino after being drugged
The tanker driving through a plane's fuselage
The exterior of the cricket club in Pakistan
Bond's arrival on a stretcher at the hospital.(pics of this were shown)

S***, the movie blended so well, I wouldn't mind an extended cut.

i would love to see more bond and vesper put back in.

would we get a directors cut?

I didn't notice how long it was........that usually means it was great!! :woot:

Nah. Bond fans won't complain. I mean, as a 007 fan....we're pretty much conditioned to withstand 3 hours. This film managed to just miss the 3hr mark.....but the length was fine with me.

I think too many people nowadays suffer from short attention span. If a film cuts close to 3 hours, suddenly lots of people start freaking out. Like they're time is that precious or something, lol.....

I think it has to with peoples attention spans slowly getting shorter

I don't have a problem with the length, the thing is I think some moviegoers did.

And honestly the movie could've been trimmed more. A lot of people felt the climax sequence was contrived and rather pointless.

I can see why people thought it was too long. I didn't mind, I was never bored. It would have had less impact if it had been shorter. It would have been more cliche.

I don't think so. I think avoiding the convention of having that forced climax would've been less cliche.

lol. That's true! Everytime a Bond film is on TV it is 3 hours long...even though the movie itself may only be a little over 90 minutes. lol.

I guess the people who complain aren't Bond fans.

I think for an audience, they could've cut maybe 15 minutes out of the movie.

I also think the climax is rather forced and I agree with the criticisms against it. The movie does run really long for a lot of people.

All these movies are always getting extended cuts and special editions on DVD's anyway. What is one more?

Maybe those poker scenes could have used some trimming.
