I really dislike Alex Ross's Batman, im not sure if its the fact he doesnt have white lenses or not, but theres just something i really dont like about it. To be honest i dont like much of his work or his style, however i think his Joker is amazing:

No, I don't like his Batman either, it always looked fat and old for me.

I don't hate it, but I don't really like it either. It's decent enough.

If I wanted to do some good ol fanboy nitpicking I'd say the bat on his chest is way too big, the belt looks like Adam West's, and I think the hole in the mask (for his mouth) would look better if it wasn't so wide.

I hate Ross' Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. I like most of his other stuff though.

his Joker is actually the only thing by him I do like...

The problem is he makes his batman too realistic looking. If a guy really did only wear a tight fitting outfit and a cape he'd look kind of silly. To make Batman work and make him look realistic, I think you'd have to give him a semi-armored look, keep the lenses, and make it look more like he's wearing a really good costume that could actually scare the crap out of you.

Well I love the way he depicts all of them. I like to see the heroes as older than myself, wiser than the "hip" 26 year olds that play them in movies.

Ross does a great job on illustrating Bats IMO; I can understand how some of you may have reservations of his renditions but I love them...

Especially his Joker.

It's not my absolute favorite, but I've never had any complaints. And Ross can really deliver some great panels.

Kingdom Come is one of the best things to ever grace my shelves.

There are some characters I dislike from Ross' designs...but Bats is not one of them. Everytime I look at War On Crime I go "man does that look awesome"; his Batman doesn't bother me.

I love Ross' JSA and Justice Society of America covers
I don't like them, myself. I mean, they're just dudes...standing. Anyone can do standing. Not as well as Ross, of course. But anyone can do standing.

His Batman is a mid thirties, large, intimidating man. His design is practically what all the fanboys would want with a cloth style suit.

I love Ross' art, but I've never liked his Batman. I think it's the cowl - it looks goofy to me.

I like Ross's art quite a bit. I only slightly dislike his Bat cowl, it could have been more menacing.

I've never liked Ross's work.He 's good with composition (ie back of superman overlooking the planet, Batman looking over the city with cape flowing), but his art is awful. And why do all his superheroes look like 1950's meatheads?Horrible.

He's truly one of the greatest artists ever to grace the medium, as far as talent goes.

He's the best there is when it comes to photo realism. As a matter of fact, I have a t-shirt of that Joker and Harley Quinn painting posted earlier, and I've actually had more than one person ask me "what movie was that from?!"

However, I think the problem some people have (including myself) is that some of these characters..simply shouldn't look so "realistic." Batman and Superman are larger than life mythic heroes, they simply don't look appealing as "real people in spandex."

That being said, the majority of his other work is amazing.

ross' art is absolute genius. his compositions and sequential storytelling are second to none. his anatomy is damn near perfect (if these heroes existed in reality, that IS what their body-types would look like). and his ability to take fantasy imagery and make it work in a realistic fashion is amazing.

There was a time I hated him, but I got into it. I know he didn't pencil it but Batman in Justice looks great, he did paint it though.

His characters do look a bit chubby at times, but he's alright.

That's why I like them. They're simple and give all focus to Stargirl or the Flash or Starman and so on.

IMO all his characters look better in Justice. I don't think it quite has his storytelling though.
