What's special about 39? I may be able to get ahold of another copy very easily if you're looking to fill a hole in your collection.

Its only the first issue to one of the greatest Green Goblin stories ever. Haven't you read it?

It's also the first issue when we find out who Green Goblin is. Green Goblin also finds out Spider-Man is Peter Parker.

Yeah, I just got the impression that it was ultra valuable or rare from what was posted. I'm looking to pick up number 38 (last Ditko issue) soon.

in NM it's worth 230 dollars, plus it was the book that set osborn up as pete's nemesis. That valuable and rare enough for ya?

230 dollars? that it? it's sad that a classic like that is $230 while i sold ultimate spider-man 2 for the equivalent of about $60, over a quater of the price.

$230? I got it listed at $600 over at comicspriceguide

The next issue is worth a $150 more, due to the Green Goblin origin being revealed

I don't think comicspriceguide updates their prices on every book that often. I've seen some that are over and some that under compaired to other guids. I dunno though most of the time they're right.

Is there a more reliable online source? I'm used to the Overstreet guide.

My comic shop has Invinc Iron Man #1 in really good condition for like 20$. Kinda funny cause everything else they have in that ****ing store is so overpriced.

IM #1 from 1968? For $20.00? Grab it. That book sells for a few hundred in NM, and might go up in price with the release of the Ironman movie.

I can't believe how fast people dive on copies of AF #15. The 2.0 for 950.00 is a dream come true. I'd scoop that up immediately if I had the cash and some lucky SOB didn't take it

that one on my link has biro scribbles on the cover and is still going for $2000! :wow:

The unfortunate thing for us collectors is that Spidey is such a cultural icon at this point, that even non comic collectors will hunt down copies of AF#15 or ASM #1

I blame CGC all they do is jack up the prices and it's rigged so the more books you send it the better the grading you get apparently so...what's the point other than to slap a stupidly high price on them so real collectors have to do without.

Yeah, CGC and bidding forums like ebay have artificially boosted prices.

It was bidding, not the usual annual increases that first pushed the likes of Detective Comics #27 and Action comics #1 past the $100,000.00 mark.

A few years ago I was on ebay bidding for a Daredevil #77 (With a Spidey and Submariner GS). The book was in Good condition at best, but the bidding pushed it over 30.00. I saw this, said, "screw that" searched online for 10 minutes and found the book in Fine condition for 10 bucks.

And i honestly don't get the whole CGC thing. you have to drop what 30 bucks per comic for them to tell you what you already know from looking at it- and having it sealed in a plastic case, so to hell with doing anything with the book put displaying it.

it's intended for soulless people who don't read comics but just put them on display like cheap tarts in an amsterdam window

Wow, what the ****. I went to my store and went to buy it (with the sticker on it saying "20$" and when he rung it up the guy said (and I quote) "326.27$".

I laughed and left promptly after. :down

Actually by law if they've marked a price on it they HAVE to sell it to you for that price. A friend of mine was pissing about when we both worked at virgin megastore and put a sale £1 sticker on the complete james bond box-set which should be like £200. The manager had to sell that to a customer for £1 and promptly fired my mate. Go back and see if the label's still on it!!!!
