It was all right. I liked the way Pete was going around and taking no prisoners whereever he went. Him throwing the Jeep at the assassin was the highlight of the year I think.
However, this issue was plagued with so many blatant and horrid continuity errors that I wonder how this issue saw print. I mean...ASM had been getting delayed due to Civil War and they had some extra time to sit on it. You'd have thought maybe someone would have gone...."Hmm, Aunt May's maiden name wasn't Fitzgerald but Reilly...hence why the clone of Peter Parker called himself Ben Reilly". But I guess maybe some genius figured that nobody would notice that?
Dude, we're comic book nerds...you'd have figured out by now that you can't BS a comic nerd.
And Peter stopped wearing the black costume because it reminded Mary Jane of Venom. And during that time Venom was bad ass and could have attacked at any moment. But, as usual, nobody remembers THAT either. Because that would require acknowledging that stuff happened to Spider-Man before his run on Spider-Man, heh.
Yes, I see now why people have been upset with JMS for a while. But STILL he's by no means the evil man and bad writer that a lot of people have made him out to be. A lot of it falls onto the editors and higher ups in my opinion. People should catch stuff like that...I mean...especially if it's your JOB to do it. If I let stuff slip by like that at work on a constant basis I wouldn't have a job anymore.
Marvel...seriously...if anybody is reading this...which you're not...hire me. Make me continuity editor for the entire Marvel Universe...seriously. I can do it. I'll make things make sense and stop us comic nerds from *****ing so much. I can't guarentee NO *****ing. But I can cut it down with strong continuity...which is something that some fans ONLY ask for. And how hard is it to do that? Not hard. So lets put some work into these books, please?
