Comics Amazing Spider-Man #556

Just read the issue for a second time, and I thought is was good, as it is always a pleasure to see Spidey's humor. It felt nice seeing the Enforcers again, but the thing I like the most about ASM 566 is Spidey's line regarding alcohol solving the world's problems, especially for Tony Stark! Now, that was hysterical!

the grander scheme of things is that Peter once again takes the burdon of the world upon his shoulders, and that's the way it should have always been.

Just my two cents...

Mike

:yay:
Good points, and I completley see where you're coming from, but I got to ask two more questions :)

1) Do you think your thoughts should apply to just to MJ because she is his wife, and around so much? Or should no one (a friend) ever know who Spidey is?

and 2) Couldn't it be said that having someone to be responsible for gives Pete MORE of a burden? He's not JUST looking out for himself, he has to support someone else.

Thanks for the kind words...

1) I think this should apply to everyone. Peter worries more and gets all neurotic when his identity becomes compromised, thus adding to that pressure that I was talking about... if a family member and/or loved one knows, then it takes away from that dynamic I talked about in my previous post.

However, having said that, I can see perhaps a peer finding out, like DareDevil or the Human Torch... they certainly have earned their battle scars and trust and it was nice when DD found out Spidey's identity way back in ASM #219, but since then, every other hero and their dogs have known who Peter Parker is, and that took something away from the stories. I like the mystery that surrounds that "creepy Spider-Man".

2) Whether Peter is single or not, he feels the "worry" about his friends, family and loved ones every time he goes into battle... he worries about what they'll do if they discover his identity, he worries how his "death" might affect them... this is a character trait that Peter Parker has had since Day One, and he didn't just "develop" this when he got married... so when you think about how Peter is "guilt-driven" to do the right thing versus his "concerns" about being killed in battle, that's a LOT of burden to knock even the mightiest of men down.

Again, merely my two cents...

Mike

Thanks, MoB. Good answers. I'm with you that (before the unmasking, obviously :) ) way too many people knew who he was.

Got hold hold of the last 6 issues recently as I has fell behind with ASM.
Minus #562, not got that one yet.

It had been some time since I read #555, but after the recap and the first few pages of #556 I remembered why I really liked the last issue.
Chris Bachelo- Pencils and Tim Townsend- Inks provide some really nice art, and the colors perfectly compliment their style providing all the cold needed for the blizzard.

Fav bits- Jonah trying to leave the hospital and Spidey getting his costume stuffed with newspaper by his new friend.
That scene was really cool made me feel good inside.

:) :spidey:
