Comics Amazing Spider-Man #559 spoilers. I'll read it so you don't have to

Spidey greg actually made some good points. However on the electromagnetic thingy I'm in the spider-girl camp and think it should be used more and souped up a bit. As you said, across the years he stopped needing to take his shoes off, therefore that's canon in my book and, if anything, them reverting to the old ways shows how far the books regressed!

Anyway I would like to stress again that it wasn't the worst issue, I just disliked certain aspects.

It doesn't specifically say "For Boycotters only" If this is the first time I ever came here and wanted to find out the latest on Amazing, that's the thread I would go to. Pro Bnd readers are posting here also.

I wouldn't say shocked, maybe a little annoyed at the level people go to at nitpicking.

Yea man, so do I.

Huh? I suggest you read the threadstarter's comments below. If I'm flaming, he's atomic bombing.

Ladies and gentlemen, the internet equivalent to a dog chasing his tail.

Then read the issue, I have. it's very good.

I think I have a pretty good idea about the guy after reading posts like this:

And my personal favorite.

This is "merely not liking the issue"? And you call me childish. Maybe my annoyance of reading post after post of this came through my initial thread and went overboard. But I'm surprised that you're defending this. My biggest mistake is lending more importance to the thread starter then he actually deserved. It won't happen again. I'm sure he's smiling gleefully as he reads this.

I'm still not quite sure why you're getting bent out of shape about this, sorry if it bothered you.

I'll let you answer this. Take it away MD.....

I actually thought the beer thing was funny. That's all.:yay:

Bdeh Bdeh, that's all folks

So while you went through all that trouble to make that post I was on a date tonight.

Looks like I need the sock puppets again to teach you about time zones, but first wipe the drool off your helmet.

Seeing as I have no idea where your parents live, you're right...

And my wife does a great job wiping off the drool from my helmet.

:yay:

Please can we get back to talking Spidey because this is all rather distasteful!! :o

What I would like to get to the bottom of is the shipping order of the past two issues.

Because although there was still snow in last weeks issue, there was clearly more in this weeks. Also Vin tells Al that he's only met Peter Parker twice. Where as this isn't the case. And in last weeks issue, Al clearly knows who Peter is. Refering to him as Vin's Boyfriend. As well as in last issue Pete tells May that he's moving out soon, once he can afford a place. But in this issue Vin is already preparing for Pete to move in with him!

The continuity between the two issues just about works. But upon closer scrutiny it's clear that last issue was shipped out of sequence.

So my question is, when was it supposed to have hit the stands originally?

Okay, a little prognostication time: Obviously, Robert Carr's "mystery girlfriend" is going to be Mary Jane.

I really wish I hadn't read that. :csad:

Oh, and since the Spider-Tracer killer was referenced, even though it probably will have nothing to do with the overall story, I'll just come right out and say who I think it is: it's Kraven the Hunter back from the dead.

Or that. :csad:

The recent issue was probably supposed to ship the week before, with Gale's issue coming in after the current story... but that is simply just guessing on my end.

Probably last minute changes to undo this trainwreck of a status quo. Between this and Wacker asking what it'll take to make us happy, I think BND's on its way out, and if the people that enjoy BND drop the book because of this...Well I won't miss being associated with them.

Yeah that would make the most sense, wouldn't it? But if issue #558 was originally intended to come out after the current arc, when Pete is trying to tell May that he might be moving out soon, why is there no mention of him rooming with Vin? Which is what cuased my confusion.

So I think what probably happened is that #558 was indeed due to come out after the current arc (which will probably see Peter and Vin's arrangement put into place) but the dialogued to the original script must have been changed. I imagine the original pre-scheduling swap edit of #558 DID have Peter telling May that he's moving in with Vin. Which explains her excitment. But i'm probably over thinking the situation.

On a lighter note: I like your sig! Preach it! Each week I buy FOUR copies of ASM in support of Brand New Day. One I bag and board. One that I read myself and then just stash in a pile with other issues ready to dig out for future reference. One I pass around my friends. And one I leave lying around amongst the magazines at work for my colleagues to enjoy the Spidey goodness!

Why not just wait till they're in the quarter bin next year?

Wow, that's pretty generous. I've been buying up what's left in the 1/2 off bin, usually 2 or 3 issues.

I wish I was making the big bucks that you are... :cwink:

Thanks though... we have a small minority around here always complaining about it, so I like to throw in my two cents about how much fun Spidey has been to read since BND.

:yay:

Edited on account that I wasn't sure that last thing I said made a lot of sense.

I just noticed a mistake in this issue...
Spidey gives dr. connors his cell number.
they explain that he uses a prepaid sim card.

but i think the first issue of BND has him joking about having a little bit of mins. on his phone and Betty tells him he's in her circle or whatever.

to do that you have to have a contract...

He probably has a Peter Parker phone and a Spidey phone...

lol...I thought about that at first also. but they also showed that he had a seperate ringtone for Doc Conners so that he wouldn't answer the phone and give away his identity.

Yeah, wanna know what really doesn't make sense about that joke in the first issue of BND?

Peter basically says, hurry up and speak or i'll run out of minutes and we'll get cut off. Then Betty says oh but she's one of the five people that he gets to make free calls to. So she won't get cut off. And Pete's like, Santa? Cute. But there's one mighty piece of logic missing from that sequence...

THAT SHE CALLED HIM!

lol

Oh that's good. Yeah I just like feeling like i'm contributing to the BND cause. Letting Marvel know that people are really enjoying and appreciate Spidey's new direction.

Before BND I used to buy ASM out of loyalty to the character. Now I buy it because I really can't wait for each instalment!

But Marvel doesn't know people are enjoying it, because everyone's dropping the book, and being quite loud about it. Marvel's acknowledged this, and here you are flushing 12 dollars a week down the toilet, and I just laugh at you.

Do you have a link to a quote from Marvel acknowleding that "everyone's dropping the book and being quite loud about it"?

Just curious.
