I'm just thinking, I don't know whether to play this game until after I see the movie. I mean, I don't want to get spoiled in ANY way whatsoever. And I just find it hard to believe that there won't be some spoilers from the movie in the game.. Ahh I don't know. The temptation to play it will kill me but I really wish that the game and the movie came out the same day.

Don't be fooled. Even though this game is essentially separate from the movie...there WILL be spoilers. The game picks up right after the movie ends and we already know of one spoiler involving Connors. If you're seriously worried about knowing too much prior to the movie...I'd play it safe and wait.

Yeah man, that's what I was thinking. There will be some spoilers, without a doubt. And I really don't want to be anymore spoiled for the movie than I already am. I think I'll preorder the game but wait till I see the movie to play it.

I wish I could go back and play SM2 again. I got rid of my PS2 when I bought my PS3 with BC but it died on me last year. Now I have a slim model and of course no BC. I guess I could go buy a PS2 again for cheap...oh well.

The slow down effect during web rush is optional. You can hold down the button to enter web rush mode and time slows down or you can simply tap the button to execute an instantaneous web rush. Obviously, the slow down version helps with accuracy but I'm sure with ample playing time you may not even need it.

If you bought the very first PS3 that came out and not the slim version you can still play PS2 games.

I loved my original 60GB. It was great until about a year ago it started sounding like a hair dryer on full blast and then it died. YLOD. I could have gotten it fixed but I heard the refurbs only last a short while until they die again.

I thought Web of shadows was alright, but it certainly didn't bring anything new to the table.

sure he doesn't jump, but i can see the whole counter system is put in there, that is if it actually works that way.

Noel you're a fellow irishman, have you heard of any preorder bonuses in our gamestops? the staff in the one at mine arent even advertising the game at all...yet games that are coming out in september are being marketed like crazy for preorders

Yeah you may want to look into that but I believe it was GeneralRaam that posted the other day that Gamestop ran out of codes for the preorder bonus for the Rhino deal.

I went in and preordered it a couple of weeks ago, i asked if they had any info on it at all and they said that nothing at all has been confirmed other than they're getting in the game...but that any preorder bonuses that come with it i can get on the day....which sounds so bs to me.

Yeah Web of shadows introduced the web strike which allowed spidey to bounce from enemy to enemy without touching the ground. This brought a whole new form of aeriel combat. It was pretty good but the game required you to use it constantly.
It also introduced the ability to fight on walls and enabled fights to advance from the streets to the rooftops. I actually think this game has some of the best movement controls for Spidey.
Another cool thing it introduced was the ability to web enemies to flat surfaces (kind of like the small knife scene in ASM) but unfortunately there was never a moment that required you do this and I played through the whole game without even realizing it was possible due to lack of a tutorial. There was also nice ways to snatch civilians out of the air or enemy hands which made for some epic moments.

Web of shadows definitely did have some original features. It could've been great if they spent some more time on it.

I just don't think I'm gonna be able to wait. I'll probably play the opening scenes with the sound turned off so I can get through it without spoilers and get straight to the webswinging. That ought to hold me until the movie comes out.
