That newest video made the combat look a little better but I am still holding out on this game till I get some concrete reviews.

Thanks, I saw that but I figured they probably weren't 3D and they were probably for AMC or one of those big chain theaters, and I don't have one of those in town.

It's alright. After I get the game I still have a whole week. It's not so much that I'm like reeaaaally hurting for money, my parents will pay for us to go see it once, but I'm a super nerd so I have plans to see it 3 times already.. and of course I have to buy snacks for my date... Theaters are expensive! haha.
Also I have a recently discovered addiction to Marvel Minimates.. which is uh.. not the best thing for me.xD

I would highly reccomend getting minimates, they're cheap enough that they won't break the bank getting a couple every couple weeks or so, and the detail is flat out ridiculous. I got a Thor one a couple weeks ago, the thing has two heads with interchangable hair (one with helmet and one without), removeable wrist bands/cape, a base, a mjolnir attachment, and a removable hand that makes it look like he's spinning mjolnir really fast.

I just realized, 2 weeks today the game will be out! 3 weeks until the movie.

I wish they'd announce the voice cast already. Dee tweeted weeks ago they would announce it 'at or around E3'. Well, it wasn't at; it wasn't before and it isn't really 'around' E3 anymore. :/

There are elements of that first Lizard render that look good...and parts that are very early next-gen.

People need to realise that at E3 this was just the Demo, a taster! It's going to be even better in full, don't worry about minor details like how far ESB is from this and that, enjoy the game

That's a huge part of the game, for me at least. This is supposed to be a free-roam version of Manhattan -- not just some fictional city like Gotham City or Metropolis. It's important that they recreate it somewhat accurately. They took some liberties with SM2 and that was fine, but overall, it felt like you were swinging around NYC.

The swinging and the combat moves actually look better here than in what we've seen for the console version. I love the multi-face slap move Spidey does with his foot.

An interesting note regarding that. I asked Dan Amrich (who heads the site One of Swords and works for Activision) on Twitter if the guy who voices Spider-Man in the game has voiced him before. He responded with this:

From what I understand he has [voiced him before], but this might be his first game. He is Marvel's go-to guy for Spidey I hear.

So it's safe to say that it's not Sam Riegel.

It's a shame that I'll never hear him, here in Spain it will come dubbed, so I'll probably get the voice actor that dubs Andrew Garfield in the movie. That's why I think that the Web of Shadows voice acting wasn't THAT bad, because the spanish dub was actually pretty good

Gameplay and combat are exactly like Gameloft's previous Spider-Man title...the Spider-sense, the slide motions for actions, everything. I'm glad they included free swinging and the visuals are absolutely gorgeous for an iOS game.

The "compliments" part I don't know, but "your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man" is "tu amigo y vecino Spider-Man" (which is something like "your friend and neighborhood Spider-Man").

I tend to watch TV series and movies with the original language, so it's not something I usually hear. The videogames in Spain usually have a pretty good dub, so I like to hear the good voice actors that we have.

For example, the Spanish version of "Heavy Rain" is infinite times better than the English version, the same goes to "Metal Gear Solid" (only the first one) or "Broken Sword".

The Spidey games usually have the same voice actors that dub the Raimi's movies, so it's not bad. The only exception was Shattered Dimensions, which came out only with Spanish subtitles and English voices (I'm glad they did this, because the original voice acting of that game is superb).
