The Amazing Spider-Man Amazing Spidey Video Game Thread. - - - - - - Part 15

Another issue I had with this game is the lack of web control and jumping.
Omg jumping is really weird. It's annoying how we can only jump straight up and can't do any kind of back flips or somersaults. Its so awkward. I also hate their web system. I want to control where I fire my webs and have the option to attach a web line to anything I please. Its so annoying to target the ceiling and then spideys webs only go straight in front of him with that weird double web thing. They need to fix that.

I share your grief about jumping

Guess the guys who did the story for the game didn't do their homework properly:
Post credits scene in the movie shows scales on Connors neck
The psychiatrist tells Connors he's fully cured in one of the voice tapes for stage 3

I wonder what will happen to this game now after the departure of...that guy I forgot the name of.

What happened to the leader guy of Shattered Dimensions?

I hope that for the next game we get some of that humour, fun and charm from Shattered Dimensions, but with a story as enjoyable as in EoT combined with gameplay elements from ASM.

^Indeed he seemed like a really nice guy! I hope we'll see him more in some other projects.

I wonder why he left.

The guy who was the creative director of Shattered Dimensions is one of the new studio heads, Oscorp. Thomas Wilson.

Ah, thanks for the info! I'm very glad to hear that! I really liked that guy even though he never could leave an interview without all the first person "aaaah I hate you Spider-Man!" talk haha! I hope he'll bring back some of the Shattered Dimensions fun and humour.

By the way, did Dee say he left Beenox or that he just left his position?

I'd be happy if there weren't a movie tie-in game. TASM had some fun, but was ultimately too flawed for my liking. Nevermind the bugs, it got a lot of the fundamentals wrong.

I agree! They did alot of things right but it was pretty clear that the license limited them. Especially when it came to villains and the overall tone.

I want Spidey to have some awesome banters with the villains again like in SD. That game had such an awesome overall feel to it.

That's very unfortunate though I can see why he'd do that. Beenox will probably focus on Spidey for a very long time and one would like to do something else once in a while. Especially when you're so limited to time under Activision. You can't use your studio to its full potential.

I wish him the best of luck!

I'ld like it if they got Slott back on to help with the writing of another game

Honestly I kind of want Spidey to go to a new studio. Beenox hasn't really delivered a great Spidey game yet, and I'm not sure that they can.

I'd say give it back to Treyarch but they're too busy making billions on Call of Duty. :whatever:

Do you mind listing them?

Yup Dan Slott would do wonders to a game if he'd get the chance to actually write a story. Though I do think he's pretty busy with the comics at the moment.

Bobby Kotick (CEO of Activision) thought Treyarch made bad games after the first movie game, and Beenox kinda make them more money with Spider-Man, I doubt he will give them the license back
And Shaba studios went off the grid

I see what you say. They have the heart but they lack a little in talent. Now, they are tied back alot due to Activision and film licenses etc. but I think they just aren't that talented when it comes to flowing gameplay, web swinging and all that. But they do rock when it comes to boss battles (with the exception of ASM), tone, story, fan service and knowledge of the character. There aren't many better options out there.

Yeah I know that but there wasn't any story to it. It was basically a very fun game where you played different levels and then confronted the big boss.

To be honest, I don't think Treyarch would've done that much of a better job than Beenox. I don't think they'd come up with the idea of Web Rush for example, nor would they have that good of a story.

Treyarch made Ultimate Spider-Man the game, good game, good story
Web Rush is pretty much a resurrection of the point and zip from the PS1 games, not sure why that was removed from Treyarch's open world games, glad Beenox restored it
