nvm
Honestly I kind of want Spidey to go to a new studio. Beenox hasn't really delivered a great Spidey game yet, and I'm not sure that they can.
I'd say give it back to Treyarch but they're too busy making billions on Call of Duty.![]()
I see what you say. They have the heart but they lack a little in talent. Now, they are tied back alot due to Activision and film licenses etc. but I think they just aren't that talented when it comes to flowing gameplay, web swinging and all that. But they do rock when it comes to boss battles (with the exception of ASM), tone, story, fan service and knowledge of the character. There aren't many better options out there.
I don't know why everyone keeps saying "Treyarch wouldn't do much better" when they've already done MUCH, MUCH better with the Spider-Man games that they did make.
I thought you all loved Spider-Man 2.![]()
Was Kotick in charge during the making of SM2?
It was a movie game in name and visuals only. It was a game Beenox made up themselves and then masked as a movie game by using the suit design and a single, insignificant dynamic of the movie (cross-species genetics). In fact, take away the suit and it'd just be like any of the other Beenox Spidey games.
I'm not incorrect. They still came up with the story and everything themselves. Obviously they had to make it fit in with the new movie universe so it had to be approved, but it was still something they came up with.
Look, I'm glad they tried to do something different with the "movie tie-in game" genre, but imo it was wasted and it didn't work.
They should have just made the player play through the film and added in some stuff in between like all movie games have done before.
They wouldn't have had to go through all the hassle of getting it approved and they would have had more time to work on other aspects of the game.
That thing about the combat applies to the first movie game, SM2 game combat is nice and smoothThe only things in SM2 that were really good are the web swinging, Black Cat and introducing us to a free roam Spidey game. The combat was slow and stiff
The only things in SM2 that were really good are the web swinging, Black Cat and introducing us to a free roam Spidey game. The combat was slow and stiff (even though you could alot of fun things with the webs, I want more moves like that included in the next game. For example, webbing a guy and hitting another guy with him. Overall I want Beenox to be imaginative when it comes to "normal" web attacks in free flow combat).
The boss fights were messy. The graphics were bad even for its time. The voice acting sucked. And so on.
I think SM2 deserves creds for the web swinging and for being the one that started the whole free roam Spidey thing. But other than that, it's an extremely overrated game. Treyarch for sure wouldn't make a better game than Beenox at this moment.
And VenomSpawn, calling Beenox lazy and saying ASM basically is an original game in a film license cover sounds very, very ignorant to me. Sure you seem to not like the game and I'm annoyed at many flaws in that game as well, but those complaints are just very unfair. Beenox has showed so much respect to the Spidey fans and genuinelly try to please us in every aspect, calling them lazy is crazy. And their hands were tied back alot by Marvel and Sony. The story had to have a big connection to the film. They were restricted when it came to villains they were allowed to use. They had to communicate back and forth with both Sony and Marvel. So please, don't be so ignorant next time.
I hope they can make their own, non-film licensed free roam game next time to prove you wrong.
EDIT: Sorry if I'm harsh here but your posts were so unfair to Beenox I couldn't help it.
