Sorta. From what I remember (keeping in mind this was when the game came out lol) there was just really some lines of dialogue and it seemed to less of it by the end.

Oh that explains it then. Still SM1 was a good game and GG2 was fun to play as and he could even summon/dismount his glider at will.

Oh man, you could play through the Spider-man 1 game as the green goblin! I'd forgotten all about that, I think it's been a decade since I've played it but I remember having a blast flying around on the glider and shooting out pumpkin bombs.

I don't think that's the whole story. Harry Osborn/Green Goblin II's dialogue is clearly different from Spider-Man's, so they would have had to record new dialogue.

obviously....its just what i stated is most of the story and the dialouge was changed to green goblin dialouge

I was thinking about something and I apologize if this has been mentioned already but...

Beenox has said this game takes place after the events of the new movie coming out. So, there won't be a Lizard in this game?

Basically I see two possible outcomes (there may be others) from TAS with regard to the Lizard. 1) He is killed. Either during a fight with Spidey or in an attempt to save him, he dies. 2) He is saved. Meaning that Spidey feeds him some type of a serum and cleanses Connors of the Lizard stuff thereby removing the threat and he lives.

If he dies, don't see how he could be in the game. They bring people back from the dead all the time, but I don't see it happening. If he lives and is 'cured' of the Lizard, well, then obviously the Lizard no longer exists. In these two examples I don't see how he could be in the game. It's a shame really.

Or 3) The Lizard escapes at the end of the movie, and returns in the game.

I don't think it would be a great move to kill off the Lizard. I think the classic interpretation of the Lizard is that it's not Conner in control. He seems like too much of a victim to kill off plus I think it's a shame to kill off iconic villains that haven't been killed off in the comics (at least not in their early appearances).

I'd expect to see some sort of Lizard presence in the game. It would feel weird that the tie-in game would skip that altogether.

Agreed even though they didn't mind doing it to... GG, Doc Ock, Venom. Only character they let go was the Sandman... Who can't really be killed lol. Also I have a feeling they might be flashback resolving the lizard... I still can't wait to see what new info they will have out soon.

Which was disappointing to me. All of the good villains died, but the mediocre one gets to not only live, but go free?! The ****!?

I feel they made PEter character a lil soft. If this was the 616 Spidey i have a gut feeling he would not settle for the gun "accidently" going off and killing his beloved uncle. I understand how he forgave him and all but to let him go. He killed a few others with hisowers. Did Spidey forget that???

Agreed. They should have at least shown Sandman turn himself in so that Peter doesn't look like an idiot who confuses forgiveness with amnesty. Then again, collateral damage is rarely made a point of in these films.

I hate how so many people in hollywood these days feel the need to kill off villains in superhero movies...so stupid...

I'm wondering why we have a TASM game thread here and one in the video game section of the boards.

The conditions of movies and comics are different. In comics, The Amazing Spider-Man (until 2007) alone has 12 issues a year, with other monthly satellite titles as well. Assuming about 4 titles overall, that's 48 issues a year. With movies, we get 1 about every 2 or 3 years. Add to the fact that film series aren't as everlasting as their comic book source material, and this adds up to the films never running out of villains to use, so there's far less demand for villains to return, and less reason to not kill them off. That's why the villain often dies in a superhero movie.

thats silly. they can easily do great super hero films without killing off villains

I agree. I was just explaining why the villains are so often killed in the movies as opposed to the comics.

Agreed. I think it would've been nice to see a more damaging sandmanto like in the comics. He's ruthless and crazy.
