That sounds better, and if GG is the villain in the next film it will lead off perfectly to TASM2.

It'll just fit in better since Proto Goblin is essentially an actual prototype, which Hobgoblin isn't.

Proto Goblin isn't anything special really, but he could offer some different aspects than Green Goblin. As GG and Hobgoblin both use gliders, Proto Goblin won't need one. He could just be an agile final boss who's very strong.
I like the idea.
Wasn't Proto Goblin also rumored to be in the movie?

I think if they were to use Proto Goblin as a villain, then it'll be a "lesser" version of Green Goblin with no bombs, no glider, et cetera. Using Hobgoblin would be just using a orange version of GG.

Plus, I would love to see Green Goblin in a video game sequel even if he's in the film's sequel. If not, then they can always use Hobgoblin in the game's sequel.

idk who i'd want the final boss to be. cause i wouldn't want a character appearing in the game ruin their chances of appearing in a upcoming film in this series....assuming the games can be counted as cannon with the films

They can't and it wouldn't. Videogames don't have an impact on how they plan their next movie, it's just a tie-in product.

So I found a picture of the control scheme of the game (image is huge, not worth posting in image form here):

Awesome! If you're on a wall and click in the left stick, Spidey spins around and faces forward! Much like this:

I always wanted this to be an ability. Glad it is!

Also, I'm glad to see that the "Counter" button for Batman has been replaced by a "Dodge" button. Much more efficient and character-like. I aprove.

Cool controls, but I wonder what are some options. For example, what's "Web Rush Back" or "Back to Wall"?

Web Rush back is the Web-Retreat feature that allows you to quickly get the hell out of a fight if you're getting your ass kicked.

BC in EoT was oversexxed to the point of being ridiculous. Her design in that game was flat out awful. The made it even worse by giving her no substance within the story and probably the lamest boss fight to come out of a Beenox game.

I hope they do her more justice within TASM.

I disagree that it was flat out awful, but she was a bit oversexed, which I attribute to being part Tigra (who has been portrayed as way more skanky than Black Cat has been in the comics). TASM Black Cat can still be argued as being oversexed too, it's just that they swapped one fetish for another, they still seem to have spent more time on the T&A than they have her face.

What's more her costume is lazy and I can't see a good excuse even in the movie or games own style there are people like Iguana, Rhino and Spider-man's own suit still resembles the classic.

EoT may have been an obvious attempt at titillation, but it was in the end only an exaggerated version of her costume. TASM could have went with an update on her classic suit, but they went with leather jacket and trousers with some white tribal patterns that are only faintly reminiscent of her costume (like the whole thing itself).

As for her character, yeah she wasn't great. EoT wasn't great from top to bottom. None of the story was that interesting and the gameplay was ok at best.

Though honestly, I feel like some of you guys are just being a bit prudish (it's just the impression I get, not trying to offend anyone). Yeah, EoT's oversexed Black Cat was less for it, but I really think some of you guys protest way too much. There are many worse examples in games and comics (Black Cat in the comics can be an example of this at times). Not to mention there's nothing wrong with some sex appeal and it doesn't simply have to be about what's on show. It doesn't reduce everyone to giggling fifteen year olds and often it can be a part of someone's character (to varying degrees).

Yah, but instead of Van Adder/Atter, it's now just a "Dr. Ratha".

Who knows. Maybe it's like the Stacy X rumour for X3 where she ended up playing the Doctor who gets killed.

It'll be exactly the same on the PS3, sans where the d-pad/analog sticks are located.

That's cool. Hopefully web swinging and wall climbing will have more options and context sensitive controls than you seemed to have in EoT. In EoT it really seemed like Spidey's abilities were simply there to go from A to B and weren't much fun to play around with.

looking over the control scheme... wouldn't it make more sense if the (photo) camera were triggered by pressing the right stick? sounds nitpicky, but it makes sense, right?

Yeah that does make sense. The left trigger makes some sense too I guess, it would feel more like a camera if you have to press one of the triggers. It doesn't bother me that much that they didn't make it right stick click

Holy crap...that would be epic as ****.

It would be just as epic as it was when I found out Peter Parker was the CEO in Edge of Time and was one of the two final villains(sorry, hate on the game as you want...that was such a shocker for me).

Haha! Yeah, I was just joking a bit with that answer. But if Batman actually turned out to be the final boss...mind = blown.

From what the developers have stated, the games and the films are each their own continuity.

I am really liking the control layout. It looks pretty efficient and should work well. Couple of things: My favorite part is the ability to both use web shots and web grab. I also know that the B button will be used to trigger the signature takedown moves when an enemy is dazed.

I'm not sure how I feel about the lack of a 'counter' button. Since this game seems to be taking it's cues from the Arkham freeflow combat system, I wonder how the dodge button will work for counter type attacks.

Like Shocker. I'm dying for an awesome version of Shocker.

Shocker is my favorite Spiderman villain; I see so much potential with him and what he can do. I had I an idea once where one of his goons messed up during a heist and had this vivid image of him taking a butter knife, and using his gauntlets at the same time to the degree that he was able to decapitate his ex associate. :awesome:

I don't think they'll ever make him that grim though... :csad:

Grest I love those controls and im used to them. Dont have to learn new controls!
