AMC orders 'Preacher' pilot.

Wait and see, looks good though.

Idk...Preacher is an all time favorite of mine, so I'm beyond scared that this simply isn't gonna live up to even my lowest expectations. I think this might be a book that I'm just too much a fan of to appreciate it in any other form. I hope I'm wrong though.

I only read a little bit of the comic, so I'm not sure how close the show will be. I like what I'm seeing though.

I thought it was a great trailer. I've only read the first trade but I'm liking what I'm seeing, especially Dominic Cooper who I'm not that big a fan of but he seems like he'll be a great Jesse Custer.

The Joker that could have been...

I didn't see any of the comic in the trailer. But that really doesn't bother me. The comic will always be there for me to enjoy the hell out of. I just want a great show.

It's hard to judge by a minute and a half teaser but I like what I see so far. It's surely all footage from the pilot, so I get why there's no Grandma, Jodi, TC or the Saint. I did catch the Ratwater whiskey bottle though with the silhouette of the Saint on the label. ;)

I have not read the comic that this is based on so I have no preconceived notions of what this should be. That said, this does look promising.

Is that supposed to be Jesse with the generic red bic lighter and not THE lighter? Was there some kind of quest to get the lighter back in the comic I forgot about?

Not really a quest. When Jody and TC recaptured Jesse after bolting from Annville in issue #1, Jody revealed he had Jessie's dads F Communism lighter for the past 20 years.

I doubt they're going to use "THE" lighter in the show. The timeline isn't right as it was when the series took place in the 90's. It's the same reason you probably won't see the Grail's Armageddon plot.

Should Preacher get its own forum? It got picked up for series.

that trailer is all sorts of promising . given the creative team thats working on this, im gonna line this up with my increasingly jam packed screening schedule for 2016. is this gonna be aired on a weekly schedule or are they gonna drop this in one go on Netflix?

I didn't see Preacher tonight. Makes me want to punch a wall. But hearing they did right by Tulip and Cassidy makes me smile big.

Just saw AMC's #Preacher. I can't say much, but I will tell you that Ruth Negga absolutely slays as Tulip.

Also, Ruth Negga is a breakout as Tulip in #Preacher. Really well done pilot, intrigued to see second episode. #TCA16

Preacher pilot deviates WILDLY from the comics, but still has the spirit of the thing. Intrigued. Want to see more. Ruth Negga's great.

Despite Preacher plot deviations, critics who knew the comic had a much easier time following pilot; others seem baffled by a lot of it.

I just want a premiere date already. This, Powers season 2, and Luke Cage. GIVE THEM TO ME.

As long as it's faithful to the spirit of the comic I'm happy.

Even Ennis was cool with the idea of a Preacher TV show not being so beholden to the books when Mark Steven Johnson was trying to get the show off the ground.

It seems every creator doesn't seem to mind these days all except Alan Moore. I just think a) these guys are getting paid so why do they care and b) they're at the point of their careers where they're past these comics from previous decades and don't have as much of an emotional attachment to them, so even if they are bad, it's no skin off their backs. They're smart enough to know comics are niche and how different the two are as it is and people will still read the comics and be able to separate.

Well with the information that came out this week from the TCAs and how many episodes each series has to air...

Sundays - Fear The Walking Dead/Talking Dead (April 10 - May 29)
Mondays - Turn: Washington's Spies (April 25 - June 27)
Tuesdays - The Night Manager (April 19 - May 24)

Feed The Beast is supposed to air in May, likely on Tuesdays after TNM is done.

Preacher, Humans, Halt & Catch Fire, Hell on Wheels, The West, The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead (for 8 episodes) and likely Into The West will have to air for the rest of the year.

Plus they have already shown a trailer on The Walking Dead so it should be out this June instead of waiting until August or September.

SUMMER
Saturdays - The West / Hell on Wheels (July - August)
Sundays - Preacher (June 5 - August)
Mondays - Halt and Catch Fire (July - September)
Tuesdays - Feed The Beast (May 31 - August 2)

SEPTEMBER
Sundays - Fear The Walking Dead

OCTOBER
Sundays - The Walking Dead
Mondays - Into The West
Tuesdays - Humans
