AMC orders 'Preacher' pilot.

Haven't been following this show at all before now, but I'm curious...

Has anyone complained about Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg writing this? I mean, they're awesome guys and all, but my brief research doesn't indicate that this is supposed to be a comedy series. Also, the last time Rogen and Goldberg worked on a comic/superhero-based property (also as exec producers, also with Neal Moritz's name in the credits), we got The Green Hornet. Has that been debated around here yet, or am I the only one who noticed that?

...It's just me, isn't it?

You're not alone. I don't even want Rogan anywhere near the Reid family tree anymore than Johnny Depp and Gore Verbinski.

Jack Huston was just scooped up for a remake of Ben Hur. I guess no Jesse Custer for him.

The dream is dead. :(

Granted we have seen and know very little but at least from what I have seen they seem to be going in the right direction. Hopefully some cast announcements will come before the end of the year.

Cool. I imagine it won't be long before a director is attached.

EDIT: Nevermind, I missed where it said Rogen and Goldberg are directing.

Sucks we'll have to wait til 2016 to possibly get look at it.

Please don't cast James Franco as Jesse.

A little bird told me (which I later ate....cooked by a french chef.)

They were looking at Seann William Scott for the Vampire role.

This comic has vampires? Goddamn.

Co-signed.

They better take this project seriously.

I trust them to take it seriously. I just think, with them being friends and collaborators (plus the fact that Franco and Jesse look pretty similar), they might see him as the best choice.

Hmmm, not sure how I feel about that. I'm hoping they'll find someone Irish.

You're not actually taking SJ seriously, are you? :funny:

Sean William Scott?? I ... yeah wut? No.

Katee Sackhoff as Tulip! PLEASE
Michael Fassbender would make a great Cassidy but he's a movie star so... eh.

I think Fassenbender's a little old. Cassidy should appear in maybe his early 30s, I think.

Tomorrow is AMC's day at the TCA's, so I wonder if they might drop any casting reveals for this.

Haven't heard much at all lately so any new info would be nice.
