The fact they're making her black is soooo not important. I'm pretty sure its not gonna take from her character at all.

If they gotta go with a black actress I would LOVE to see Shanola Hampton from "Shameless" in the role or Tara from "True Blood"

So yes, it negates it. And that is before we get into her back story. You know the one with the hard ass white, southern, sexist, Republican, jerk of a father who only ever wanted a son. Whose heart was melted by his brilliant little girl.

You can easily change the white to black and not a single thing in that will be different otherwise. While true, black republicans are someone uncommon they are hardly unheard of.

Would this be the first time that Rogen and Goldberg will be working with a black actress outside of Rihanna on "This is the End" and the cashier chick in Superbad (who was also the girlfriend of Romany Malco's character in "the 40 Year Old Virgin)? Out of his filmography, he's never worked with any major black actresses.

As for Asian and Hispanic actresses that they know, it's basically Aubrey Plaza and Mindy Kaling, neither of whom I see as "gun toting."

I agree DarthSkywalker. I just don't get the point of it... that whole aspect of the character is important. It's not the biggest, worst change that could happen but it's a change that affects the back story of the character. I have been hoping Katee Sackhoff would play the part for such a while...

She's still presumably doing work for Longmire now that Netflix has picked it up. And while it is more common for actors to be in several series at once I imagine she's also got plans for movies too so she wouldn't be free to show up in another series.

It affects everything about the character. Grandma and her boys won't be hating on the "cooze" anymore because she's "skinny" and a "****e", they'll be doing it because she's a "******".

Not to mention that it completely intrudes on the Cindy Dagget character from Salvation.

That was my dream pick as well. He's slimmer and I like the idea of Jesse having a slim build and still being a major ass kicker. He's booked solid though.

Cooper is a solid choice. I really hope it works out and they bring him aboard.
