No idea if this is true but I thought I would post it.

Inside Idol: Final four prep, part 2

USA TODAY's Bill Keveney is spending time behind the scenes with American Idol's final four singers, watching their singing, wardrobe and promotional duties as they prepare for Tuesday's performance show (8 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT). Look for his full report Tuesday; here's his second mini-preview: a brief description of the weekend’s activities:

On Friday, Jordin, after an early school session -– as a 17-year-old she has to continue her studies –- heads downtown for a fitting by designer Dina Bar-El. With school squeezing her schedule, she usually makes quick trips to Beverly Center or funky shops on Melrose, and she’s especially excited about her first custom dress. “For this week, I wanted something pretty,” Jordin says, smiling. And later in the day, the Final Four all get a special preview of this summer’s Fantastic Four movie sequel.

On Saturday, they meet up with mentor Barry Gibb for advice for this week’s Bee Gees-themed show. They unite as a quartet for one tune, then perform their individual interpretations of two choices each from the Bee Gees’ catalog of nearly 700 songs. Gibb gives them useful advice –- speed up, slow down, hit the chorus hard -- in getting the most from their songs.

And on Sunday, the Idols are outside on the Paramount lot to shoot this week’s Ford video <aka commercial --Ken).

A special preview? Must be some footage we haven't seen yet. Or that's what i asuume.

I'm sure it is true, they did the same thing last year on Idol with X3. Give Fox credit for one thing, they know how to promote their own material.

I wonder if Sanjaya could copy Madame Medusa's hair? :woot:

Yup, millions tune in for Idol so this will be some good promotion.

Those Idol contestants are so lucky. They also got to see Shrek 3 a few weeks back. All these exclusives lol.

Yeah, I bet its not the full movie....

#1. they won't have time to watch the full movie on that day....
#2. they talk way too much, I don't see Fox letting them see the entire movie...
#3. we have already heard they they will be working on the cgi all the way up to the final week....

1. sure they would, they have from Wednessday through Monday to see it
2. why not it's on Fox, they would probably tell them not to say any spoilers
3. I got nothing for this one

#2, maybe....#1....I know what their week is like for that particular week Final 4, and NO they do not have time for a movie....they barely have time to sleep during that time. Not only do they have rehearsals, they have interviews not only in LA, but also in on radio, and time interviewed that goes back to their hometowns....no time for movies....

Saw this today. The four American Idol contestants got to see a special preview in a screening theater on 20th Century Fox studios, which Tim Story introduced to them. The FF cast was also in the show audience, and Jessica told everyone to see the film twice. :D:up:

Cool.......A1..........and welcome back.......where have you been hiding.....

Thanks :) I've been looking at this forum constantly, but not posting for the longest time, so I decided to finally post something. :p

Well its about time....

Tweety has missed ya....

AI? Bleah, if it true I refuse to watch AI, I'll wait until it's on the net :p

I don't watch it too Morg. I vow to wait too.

Well they had all the cast members on, Ryan Seacrest hit on Jessica Alba, and they showed the preview for the movie. Nothing really anyone hasn't seen already. But it's cool because that show has a large viewing audience, and hopefully it inspired some buzz about the movie.

Oh also there was a quick shot at the end Ioan Gruffudd was jamming out to "Stayin' Alive".

Nice!

^^^
yeah...I'm really glad its getting this kind of exposure...pretty good on FOX's part...it wasn't anything special, it seemed very routine, but the guys in the cast just sat there while Seacrest makes it out to be the Jessica Alba show as he shoves her the mic and doesn't really announce the rest of the cast, they just smiled and nodded.

^^ Will somebody tell me how we survived before Youtube, man, wish I had thought of this.

Well at school, I still have to survive without U tube.....but I'll catch it when I get home this afternoon......

Are you kidding.....I've been teaching now for 16 years.......I don't remember what it was like to put grades in a grade book by hand.......I did it for one year.....:yay: It took me close to 15 hours to do the students final grades......now all I do is click a button and the grade is finalized and sent in for report cards....

Where is the clip with Reed jamming out to staying alive. That would crack me up. Loan is so british in his personna, so understated, I think his character comes across in the first movie.

I think he has to grab the mike. Seacrest is Seacrest always searching for the publicity angle and he is very good at that.
