...and, The Film is 1 Hour 47 Minutes

Judging from the runtime and the script, I will say PG.

Sommers doesn't do PG. As Michael Bay-ish as he is.

OK, let's look at the pattern:

Sommers:

The Mummy - PG-13
The Mummy Returns - PG-13
Van Helsing - PG-13

Paramount and Hasbro:

Transformers - PG-13
Transformers 2 - PG-13

Why would GI Joe suddenly be PG?

Read the script. It's going to be PG-13 for intense sequences simulated violence, me thinks.

Sommers first two movies, which were Huck Finn and Jungle Book, were PG, but the material called for it. Plus those were his first two outings as a director.

Doesn't mean anything. They could still probably get a PG if they want.

I doubt it. A lot of war and combat scenes, and some pretty disturbing imagery with Cobra Commander and Destro's respective injuries. Given the level of violence, I think it's pretty much got to be PG-13. I'd be very surprised if it even approached PG.

But why would they? You have no evidence whatsoever to suggest they're shooting for a PG, while there is plenty of evidence that they're shooting for a PG-13.

The movie should be PG-13.

And Sommers has had only one R-rated movie, and that was Deep Rising. (Which had one hell of a cliffhanger ending)

G.I. Joe at PG would be a disaster. GI Joe at R or NC-17 would be something to see...but GI Joe isn't that violent. So, PG-13.

The again, star wars movies were PG, except for the last live action one so what do I know?

Some stuff from the graphic novel adapation is pretty much PG-13 material, if you've read it you know what it is. Though the new Harry Potter has some ghastly **** in it and they scored a PG, so whatevs.

If this movie does well enough to warrent a sequel (which it probably will), you can probably expect it to have a longer runtime, which is often the trend with franchise movies like this. I'd say just over 2 hours would be the ideal length.
But the first Transformers was over 2 hours, why is G.I.Joe under that?

The less we see of this abortion the better.

I'm confused about the run time rumors because IMBD has it at 118 minutes. Is the movie close to 2 hours or not? If it's closer to 2 hours than I'll be even more excited to see this because those extra minutes could make a world of a difference in terms of character development.
