The Dark Knight And what about Daniel Craig....

I think it'd be because as dent his appearance and manner would be quite simmilar to james bond, whereas in the prestige neither bale nor Jackman act or look like batman or wolverine. I don't feel very strongly one way or another on this because there's no way in hell he'll have the time to play the part, not that I think he'd be asked anyway. Harvey dent is supposed to be handsome, moreso than Bruce even, so it wouldn't look right on screen imo

I rather they cast an american for the role, these batman movies are turning into a european event.

Interesting choice. Not bad actually.

But Harvey do neeed to be more traditionally handsome.

But see, all this talk about gimmick casting can also be said for Colin Farrell, who's apparently "in the running" for Dent, yet he played Bullseye in Daredevil.

James Marsden in X-men AND Superman Returns
Halle Berry in X-Men AND Catwoman AND Die Another Day (007)

I don't think Daniel Craig being Dent would be THAT big of an issue.

Colin Farrell to me is more cut out for Walllace in "Sin City 2 or 3."

But Craig would be an awesome Dent. Hell, the man could play any villain.

No, Craig may be James Bond but he's no DA Dent.

I think it's a good choice - and as for all the people moaning about thinking 'oh, it's James Bond' throughout the movie, you should just shut up.

Craig is a great actor and will not be the type to be tied down by his Bond role for the rest of his career. I watched Munich the other day and not once did I think 'look, it's James Bond!'.

The only thing I fear is that if he is cast, we'll have to go through years of the same 'omg He's teh uglyst!!!' **** that we went through with Bond (and of course, they were all wrong).

Lol it seems James Bond fans are whinier than superhero comicbook movie fans. I mean what I don't understand you'd think they'd be happy that after enduring years and years of bad Bond movies they'd be happy to recieve a Bond movie that is as close as "Goldeneye" and the old Sean Connery and Roger Moore films, but yet they went off on a tangent about, "Oh he's a blonde! Oh he's wrong for the part."

Yet, he was in movies like "Munich", "Layer Cake", and "Tomb Raider." The man has got experience with using a gun and being a badass. I'd welcome him if he was casted as Dent. I mean if Hugh Jackman can be in every movie, why can't Craig?

He looks too mch like the guy who played Thomas Wayne. At least in that pic.

I think that Daniel Craig is capable of pulling off a solid performance with whatever gets thrown at him. He'd be an excellent Harvey Dent, although his looks are a bit too rugged for Harvey "Apollo" Dent. Still, if he were to be the one who ends up with the role, I'd be very supportive.

Personally, I'd like Nolan to hold off on Daniel Craig for his adaptation of THE PRISONER. Craig is pretty much the modern day Patrick McGoohan and would be one of only a few people I could see portraying 'Number Six' and making it work on it's own while at the same time paying tribute to the classic television series.

They sort of have the same features.

Maybe Bruce will see Harvey as a lost "father figure". :yay:

I think Harvey should be played by just about the handsomest guy they can get. The better looking Harvey "Apollo" Dent is, the greater impact the scarring will have on his vain psyche... the greater visual contrast both sides of his face will have.

Let him do his Bond thing. Its too distracting if he does Dent.

He's a great actor. Hides his accent really really well. And, if they dye his hair the way they did in THE JACKET......he won't look like James Bond at all. It can be done, and he's that good an actor.

But...probably won't happen. He's just too high profile, now.

Actually Fleming DID describe Bond as very good-looking throughout the books. It's funny, his section chiefs and allies describe as a good-looking guy, while his enemies(Smersh in FRWL) say he's a nasty, tough looking customer.

He's very handsome, but still a thug doing the governments dirty work in many people eyes.

For Dent? No. I mean i really think he could pull it off, but no. He's too big now and would probably overshadow the film. Besides, he is starting pre-production for Bond in January, and will start shooting anytime between June and November.

they are apparently looking for a star studded name to play the Role of Dent...plus he's British...it's not far fetched at all..

You know, he's a household name now because of Casino Royale, and the idea of Daniel Craig and Christopher Nolan teaming up would be amazing. He seems like a "big name" that they should all go for.

Plus.. would Craig not be brilliant as Harvey Dent/Two-Face? He just fits the part perfectly.. and we all know that he can have a temper.

I really think that Daniel Craig IS Harvey Dent.

Of course, the only problem is that "James Bond 22" is due out in 2008, the same year as "The Dark Knight", so maybe filming conflicts could arise there... unless Harvey Dent doesn't have a *huge* role in this movie.

Actually, I really like that idea. But it will NEVER happen.

I agree, it will never happen. And as for anyone thinking this wouldn't be seen as "gimmick" casting, it'd actually be a prime example of it. pure "who's hot right now" casting, I don't believe nolan is that type of director

He's also pretty busy making back-to-back Bond films.

not nearly famous enough.

Now, the man of should have been Bond would be great.
