yeah webb did alot of things differently in TASM, and for the most part it worked
Its so sad, because Spider-Man 1 & 2 are amazing movies. The Spider-Man duology is my favorite comic book film series (not counting the third). Let's see if Marc Webb's Spider-Man series can do better (I hope it does).
That would be beautiful.I think Marc's TASM series will improve after every movie.
What was wrong with TASM costume, I thought it was awesome and fresh?
^Not that post.
Btw, what exactly is your definition of real talent Spiderdevil?
What makes MJ's character so attractive isn't the way she's drawn. It's the way she's written. She is a spunky, feisty, somewhat self-absorbed character whose most apparent traits are really just a facade to mask her inner turmoil. Shailene can deliver that personality. I can't speak for everyone, but I know that an "average" looking girl all of a sudden becomes a bombshell in my eyes if she has the right personality.
We don't know how Max Dillion will turn out so we cant say yetAnd Stan Lee intended Max Dillon to be a two bit crook who wore a green and yellow outfit with a star mask. Stan Lee intended Aunt May to be a decrepit, oblivious, doting octegenarian. I'm so glad that these characters were translated exactly from comic to screen. Oh wait. They were updated and revised to reflect more realistic, layered, believable representations of these characters. The same will be done with MJ in future films, if her treatment in what we saw of TASM2 is any indication.
I am not asking them to cast someone who is a bombshell. If that was the case I would be asking for Megan Fox(I tortured myself to watch the Transformer movie just because of her)My question as to how this aids the character or story in any way still hasn't been legitimately answered. What you suggest reduces the character to a mere sex object used as a "distraction" for Peter.
You are comparing Spectacular Now and Social network? Why was Garfield hired? What did he have under his belt other than "a couple small indie movies"? The Social Network? Yeah, and Shailene's got the Spectacular Now. This argument is beyond ridiculous.
Don't get me wrong. When Woodley was first cast,I was relatively happy with it even though most people were complaining.I saw her photos on Google and thought she looked good
But in the set pictures she looked really bad,I don't know why but she didn't look half as good as she looked in the photos on google images. This is MJ we are talking, she needs to look good
And I am not someone who dissects actresses looks,I have enjoyed every female's character in comic book movies and never complained.Even Dunst looked great to me in the Raimi trilogy and I don't get why people complain that she looked ugly
Spider-Man (2002)Dunst looked great in the first movie.
They got too lazy and laid back and just let her look like herself, hence the more blondish looks in SM2+3.
I don't think she felt that way about SM1... I think she wanted to be there. But I do get that vibe from her in both sequels. She just doesn't look like she wants to be there for any of the movies. Doesn't seem happy at all, takes me out of her performance. Gwen on the other hand looks like she actually wants to be in TASM and is having a good time with it.
Best way I can compare their performances.
We spent two movies of Peter Parker trying to get the girl, and when they are finally together, their relationship sucks.
Peter is with Gwen in TASM and TASM2 (possibly a few bumps in the road due to the promise, but nothing major). The relationship is already off to a good start, and I think its the best element of the series so far.
