In no particulair order (just the order in which I remember them):

Anastasia: a young princess from a Russian family which had been destroyed by rebels must reclaim her own heritage.

Mulan: a young Chinese girl decides to take her father's place in a war against the Mongols. She is accompanied by a dim-witted dragon (Eddie Murphy). Watching her progress during the training sessions of the movie is pretty good. It's nice to see a movie in the vein of "Just One of the Guys"* but done in a fairly serious manner. Her fellow soldiers treat her as one of their own for the most part until they find out her secret.

Lilo & Stitch: This is the second traditional 2D animated Disney movie I have seen. All of the people are really strangely drawn... I'm not sure if Hawaiins have these sort of proportions. Lilo is a young girl raised by her older sister after her parents had been killed in a car crash. Lilo is at first very shy around people. She would rather look at them from behind the lens of her camera. Then she meets the raucous alien Stitch.

Boundin': This was a short film which aired right before the crappy feature film "Shrek 2". Boundin' is about a sheep who can dance. He becomes depressed after being sheered. A friendly Jackalope comes by and teaches to be happy with his predicament. Seriously, I'm not sure if this is availble on the Shrek 2 DVD, but if it is, just rent that horrible movie to see this short. (3D Pixar animation.)

Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. This was released on VHS at one time. It might also be on DVD. But I do know a censored version was playable as special feature on the "Street Figher Anniversary Collection" for PS2. Trust me, this movie, as the title implies, is fully animated. Every char has their basic characterization from the game series just about intact. If you've seen the live-action SF movie, then definitely check this out. (I realze this is an anime movie... sorry for listing it here if it's the wrong place.)

Allow me to mention another anime film: Roujin Z. This is a film that analyzes how the elderly are treated by their families. If you could just put your granpa or granma (who is very, very old & feeble) in a self-contained bed that takes care of their every need, would you?

An American Tale: "In America, there are no cats." This is a legendary movie that probably everyone has seen. I remember seeing it when I was six and just crying when Fievel was seperated from his family for the first time. I wish more movies paid respect to immigrants.

Honorable mentions: movies with live-action & animation.... Roger Rabbit... Cool World... Monkey Bone...

* More comtemporary is the film "She's The Man."

Boundin' was shown in front of the INcredibles, not Shrek 2...in fact they are completely different companies.

Huh? So Shrek 2 has no redeeming value?

1,15, and 20 on your list are from Hayao Miyazaki. Have you seen his other movies?

Oh well I might as well mention another anime.

Grave of the Fireflies. A teenage boy & his younger sister somehow find themselves becoming orphans. At first it isn't their fault: the mother is badly burned when their house burns down. They are taken in by an aunt who drives the older brother crazy so he leaves her. For her part, the aunt is really that mean... she's just awkwardly trying to deal with the situation she's placed in because she has no children of her own, misses her sister, and sort of believes that men the age of her nephew should be in the military.

Any way, the boy & girl aren't actually poor. Because the bank does have an account with his parent's money in it. He just chooses not to get the money until later on in the film when it's too late. Anyway, they live as vagrants. He steals... and we are shown a montage scene that touchingly portrayls how the young girl struggles to be happy in her predicament. This movie has no happy endings.

And if you can stomach it, watch an interview featuring where an American historian & a Japanese historian bicker as they try to analyze the time period in which the movie takes place. The American is an old, bald, fat guy and the Japanese person is a much younger woman whom he shows blatant disrespect for. Hmmm... "Historical perspective commentary by Professor Theodore E. Cook & Professor Haruko Taya Cook"... are they related.... ?!?!?!

Hmm... (looks at the above lists)
1. Spirited Away
2. The Incredibles
5. Finding Nemo
6. Toy Story 2
9. Toy Story
10. Mulan
15. Princess Mononoke
17. Monsters, Inc.
18. Cars
- The Iron Giant
- An American Tail
- South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
- Spongbob Sqaurepants: The Movie

I've only seen the ones listed above.
Although I did buy "Lion King 1 & 1/2" on DVD. Just haven't gotten around to seeing the whole thing.

I guess it wouldn't be okay to add any Marvel or DC animated flicks in this forum because they already have their own places here...

So... anyone wish to talk about their favorite scenes in the movies?

One of the best animated features of all time is an obscure 1970s film called The Plague Dogs.

A warning: if you are an animal lover, this movie will scar you for life.

Mulan is just all kinds of awesome. Very good action scenes(KUNG FU!) with a very good story. Nearly cried during that "Be a Man" song montage where she was thrown out only to be the first one to make it up the pole.

Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Best. Fights. Ever! Vega vs. Chun Li should go down in history for it's amazing choreography.

Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker: Unrated Cut. I just love how seriously they handled the material. Very well done, brutal action sequences. This cut is worth it just for Joker being gunned down by Tim Drake only to have his last words be "That's...That's not funny."

Ultimate Avengers I also watch repeatedly.

- Batman: THe Mask of Phantasm (BEST BATMAN MOVIE!!!)
- Batman: Sub-Zero
- Mulan
- Atlantis: The Lost Empire
- Toy Story 1
- Toy Story 2
- Batman vs. Dracula
-

Sleeping Beauty
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm

Aladdin and the Prince of Thieves
Atlantis 2
Pocohontas 2
(underated animated sequels)

There are so many great animated features I guess my top 5 traditional would be

1: The Iron Giant: Love everything about this movie, story telling, design work and the animation
2: Grave of Fireflies: It took me awhile to see this but it's fantastic, with a very sad story
3: Atlantis: Concept art based on Mignola's work, I'm in just for that.
4: Lilo & Stitch: Can't help, this movie is a pick me up and always makes me laugh
5: Metropolis: Love the style of animation and the story.

Top 5: CGI animated movies

1: The Incredibles
2: Monsters Inc.
3: Shrek
4: Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
5: Toy Story

A good CGI film is Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children

I have that too, but didn't like it as much. The animation is well done, but I felt the story was lacking.
