Horror Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire | AMC

I haven't seen anything, but I know that AMC renewed it for a second season even before this season aired and are building a cinematic universe based on Rice's writings. They paid a pretty penny for the rights to all of her books, so the show should be safe for some time, especially with these sort of reviews.
I knew there was a certain assurance there because of the money spent. Just curious to know if people are watching. Putting am episode ahead on AMC+ seemed like a weird move to me.

Anyone still here? wtf is going on w Armand? Did that upset anyone or was it acceptable? I was OK with it after a bit, but like how Fahreed was present but not yet taken over.. (or so it seems!). Will the next show after s02 be Queen of the Damned?

Who knows how they will spread the story out. I had figured S3 would be Queen of the Damned because I sense The Vampire Lestat (book 2) will be done in flashbacks because they've changed so much already.

As for Armand, I never got that sense of manipulation from in the books or here, but who knows? They could be changing that too. He was supposed to be a red haired Russian and that went by the wayside. Hard to know where the story will take us now.

I disagree about Vampire Lestat. They laid the groundwork for his past.. TWMBK, Nichola, Paris vaguely and Magnus... but not GABRIELLE and Marius was randomly mentioned by this version of Daniel. There's a lot to cover there.

It may not go by traditional seasons.. does anyone know what is left in Interview? What is season 2 going to be? I never read that book. They are going to Paris? Perhaps Lestat will experience memories while there for us.

QOTD omg how long have we been waiting on that! Since the failed movie, I always wanted more and the book is amazing and rich and full. I need to see Khayman onscreen lol

Also, is Fahreed a vampire already and we are being fooled?

I personally don't mind Armand was changed in appearance and that his religion is changed from byzantine christianity to Islam (?) or that his hair changed. I just want characters true to the core of the books. And, it could not very well have a child in that role, one that was a former sex slave. Not cool.

The second half of Interview should cover :

Book spoilers:
.. going to Paris for the Theater of the Vampires which is run by Armand, and the fate of Lestat. :)

I'd love to see Queen of the Damned material too as long as they write it well. My favorite of the books is Memnoch the Devil but there's so much religious material in there they may not dare. I'd settle for The Body Theif. That one was fun and has the Talamasca in it.

'Interview With the Vampire' Star Bailey Bass Exits for Season 2 - Variety
Wow I am hoping this new actress does a great job and Bailey will be missed.
I hope all is fine with Bass. I was in and out on her performance as Claudia but I think that was due to the writing more than anything else.

I just watched a clip there with Hayles as well. The good thing about Claudia is that the character changes over time so she won't have to mimic Bass, but even if she did I can see similarities.

Edit Twitter is a cesspit.

Oh, man. I hate it when they have to recast major people.
