Sigh......... I was hoping Barker's remake would get off the ground, but this is just sad. Especially since Doug Bradley stuck it out through all the sequels so far. This is gonna be bad....

I don't like his face, just looks like a chode.

How about just:

Another Hellraiser...why?

In late August, Hellraiser fans were stunned to learn that actor Doug Bradley would not be reprising the role of Pinhead in Hellraiser: Revelations, the ninth film in the 23-year-old horror series and the fifth straight-to-DVD sequel. Many even asked why Dimension Films would bother moving forward with another low-budget sequel if Bradley wasn’t on board.

The answer, as we touched on earlier in the month, is that Dimension didn’t really have a choice. If they didn’t get started on production of a Hellraiser film before the end of the year, the company would have risked losing the rights to the Hellraiser franchise altogether.

Sounds like a Fox move. Pump out movies just to keep the rights even though they're shooting themselves in the foot because they're still not making a lot of money off of half asses crappy movies. In the long run it doesn't make sense that they keep the rights because of the lack of profit factor.

What are they doing, biding their time and hoping one of them will become a big selling hit??

If you can replace Freddy Krueger, you can replace Pinhead.

looks like someone in a halloween costume of pinhead..

this should be crap.

not saying the original was a masterpiece or anything lol

Oh believe me, I didn't mean that it would be. I just mean it's not a shock that they would move on without the original actor.

Oh ok. My mistake. I wonder if that remake that Barker was producing will ever happen.

The original that he directed is one of my fav horror films but I'm still curious as to what he wants to do in the possible remake.

I hate the guys weak features, Bradley had much more presence, this guy has a sort of spoiled pecker face.

Replacing Freddy was a bitter pill worth swallowing because it meant a big budget remake...replacing Pinhead for a direct to video sequel that is doomed to be a rushed, barely cared about sequel that isn't worth watching is hardly the same situation.

Oh, and the new Freddy was a highly respected actor...this new Pinhead...um...who is he again?

It'll be hard warming up to a new Pinhead, but I'll give him a chance. Nobody will ever be able to top Doug Bradley though, that's for sure.

Has anyone here watched a Hellraiser sequel in the last five years ? I'm surprised they are still making them . This won't matter because barely anyone will see it and the remake is inevitable.

I've bought all 8 Hellraiser movies so far, but I mostly just watch the first 4 movies & occasionally will watch parts 5-8.

I think 4 or 5 was the last one I've seen . How are the rest ?

Not all that great. It is something that you will have to watch & decide for yourself. Hellraiser 6: Hellseeker is sort of a follow up to Hellraiser 2, it reunites Pinhead & Kirsty (Ashley Laurence) who is totally not used enough in the movie.:csad:

What's interesting about the straight-to-DVD Hellriaser movies is the fact that Pinhead or any of the Cenobites are hardly in them, especially Hellworld.

It seems like some of the sequels were meant to be totally unrelated stand-alone films that just ended up getting the Hellraiser brand tacked on after the fact.

Kinda like that last X-Files movie?

And if Pinhead nor the Cenebites feature prominently in a Hellraiser movie, why even watch it?

This looks stupid.

I'd love to see Tony Curren (Blade II, Underworld Evolution, Midnight Meat Train) as Pinhead if they do ever get the remake going.

That's sort of how Barker had said he wanted it originally. He didn't intend for Pinhead to be this huge horror icon, or he didn't expect it at least.

Just like when people *****ed about the Joker not having more scenes in TDK and the same with the Basterds in Inglourious Basterds, there always can be too much of a good thing.

If you read any of the Hellraiser comics that came out years ago(a lot of them are pretty good and you can get them in tpb form)it's more about the human characters and their descent into hell. It would get boring if all the movies focused primarily on Pinhead and the other Cenobites just killing people.

I do agree that this new DTV version looks stupid.
