Ant-Man Ant-man's reviews thread

Nah, he gushed all over AoU too, so take this review with the usual grain of salt. That said, everything has been positive so far.

How kid friendly is this movie?

My kids (ages 9, 10, and 14) weren't that wild about GotG, I'm wondering if they'll dig this.

The whole family will love it and those are perfect ages for this film. They do use a couple curse words here and there but no F bombs or anything. I would suspect everyone would love this film, def Marvel's most family friendly film to date

The site-that-shall-not-be-named has a review up by a Nathan Best

dunno who he is or how he is as a reviewer
but he gave it a 5 out of 5

Review from Variety sounded really positive!

I'm interested in colliders review frosty didn't seem impressed either, that could be another 7/10

What they listed as a negative, Most find as a positive (Stakes are not high/big enough)

My sense is that's going to be a running theme in all the reviews: reviewers who were looking for another save-the-world blockbuster will be disappointed, while those (and I'm among this group) who were looking for a breather from alien invasions, infinity stones and asteroid strikes will cheer.

I'm kind of feeling like this movie might be in Captain America: First Avenger territory. The reviews thus far have been positive, but nowhere near gushing. It sucks what could have been, still glad reception thus far has been positive though.

doesn't bother me since CA: TFA is my favorite phase 1 solo film

Well since AoU was awesome, I find that comforting.

Lol. Wouldn't be shocked if a few of the reviews were mostly complaining about Wright leaving. There are still fanboys who are rooting for the film to fail.

And you would be absolutely correct. Here's a guy who writes his review as a fictional personal letter to Wright about how much better his version would have been.

There aren't enough rolling eye smilies in the world for this one...

A fair few of the reviews have had frequent references to Wright. It's irritating - just review the movie for what it is.

Mark Ellis of Schmoes Know and John Campea review Ant Man. They both loved it!

Of course reviews are going to talk about Wright. He's a credited co-writer. He's a also a GREAT filmmaker who left over creative differences in a public, yet respectable spit. If the critic doesn't think Marvel's choices were up to snuff, then they're going to assume whatever he had planned was better. It's that simple.
