Transformers Anyone have this Prime/Megatron set?

I picked up the latest ToyFare to see the movie TF figs. I saw their TF guide and they said this set was the best set to start a collection. I want to get it since the Optimus looks better than the G1 remake and is a fraction of the cost. The Megatron, although the G2 tank version, is pretty cool as well. I saw reviews on Amazon and the reviews all say they are assembled poorly with the action functions breaking and loose parts. If anyone has this, let me know if it's worth it. It's $20 on Amazon and I'm getting a $140 DVD set so shipping will likely be free.

BTW, the Prime figure also comes in this set if anyone has that as well. I care mostly about the Prime figure.

They had it at my Wal-Mart about a month ago, before all the TF movie stuff came in. Isn't the Optimus Prime figure it comes with the same one that was in Robot Chicken?

sorta, it is a modifed version of the ROBOT MASTERS prime RM-01 that was released in japan, the RM-01 was what was used in the 'prostate cancer' sketch t:. they from what I can tell modified the legs a little and tweaked the color applications. here is a clear picture of RM-01.

they still transform the same by the way.

Also, I'm pretty sure that in the end of the sketch, when Optimus Prime is sitting in the chair giving his little monologue about cancer, they used the Masterpiece Optimus Prime. Whatever the case, it clearly wasn't the same figure as in the rest of the sketch.

And to think that’s how most of you would have like to see those robots in a real live action movie! Just like your toys!
It would have been just as stupid as a power ranger’s movie if they did so
I’m glad they modified them to make them more believable for a serious movie.

Nevertheless this movie should crush the competition and end up as the biggest movie for the summer
Or by Unicron people are out of their wits!

By the way are the transformers American or Japanese?
Because long ago I kind of remembered reading a (comic scene) magazine where they were talking about making transformers Saturday morning cartoon
And it seems clear to me that it was American (marvel) and they probably sell the idea afterward
I still have this magazine stash in a box somewhere.

I might have been wrong because I wasn't very good at reading in English back then.

I've thought about picking it up when I've seen it but I don't know the "classic" voyager sized one that was single pack just looks better to me. I don't like how his head is visable in truck mode.

Hahaha. I got that set of prime/megatron. It's a good set and it comes with the DVD. But, you're right about it breaking. Megatron has a battleclaw that spins around and I thought that was pretty sweet...until it broke off. Also the diagram they give you for transforming megatron isn't correct. They have the feet on totally backwards. So, the feet in the diagram start off correctly and then switch sometime during the transformation. It's not possible to do that though because there is a metal bar going through the feet. Megatron's battle claw, gun, and other gun constantly fall apart. Optimus's flawed toy is how is gun falls off too. They tried to make his toy cool by doing something like Megatron's spinning battle claw, but instead it's Optimus's upper half and head that spin around. Yeah, kinda cheesy. I don't recommend getting it if you're going to play with them, unless you want to act out Prime beating the crap out of megatron. These toys fall apart really well, but in my opinion I don't think they should. The DVD isn't worth that much if you're getting the same one that comes in the package...it just tells you about the history of the transformers and then there is a 4 minute fight scene between optimus prime and megatron. Not worth 140 dollars.

I was going to get that OP/Megatron set until i saw that when OP is in truck mode, you can see his head on the top of the truck, and i thought it was kinda lame looking.
