Transformers "Megatron"..."Prime"...*Transforms* Fight begins

Okay so when I watched the film for a second time was anyone else really pleased with this introduction?

There is no lengthy exposition given when Prime encounters Megatron for the first time on Earth it's just two words and the fight begins. To me that tells me all I need to know about their relationship.

We do get some dialogue as they are fighting "you continue to help the weak, that is why you lose" or something along those lines which also adds more depth these characters.

I don't know I was really happy with the way Prime and Megatron were protrayed when fighting, the few lines actually added more depth.

Am I alone on this?

When Prime begin "Megatron" and then Megatron "Primmeee" , it like they was facing each other again , not mean as a good hug but bad-ass hug.

More of my fav lines was also Prime "It's you and me Megatron" and Megatron " Nooo,It's just me Primmeee"

I loved all of the lines in their battle, i thought they were delivered perfectly.

That's my only gripe about the fight. I wish that more of the fight had been shown, but even moreso, I wish that OP hadn't looked so weak in comparison to Megatron. Their stats are approximately even, so it should not have been so one-sided.

I liked the exchange, but I agree that the actual fight between Optimus and Megatron was a bit one-sided.

I've always thought that Optimus was holding back because he knew he was in the middle of a city and there were tons of humans around that could get killed/hurt with the collateral damage he would cause going all out. He thought if he held back he could "contain" Megatron.

And then the camera cuts to another scene and you pretty much see NONE of the fight. Whoever thinks Megatron and Prime actually fight in the movie have artificially filled in the scene in their brain.

...yes and evidently everyone thinks Optimus was protectively holding a kitten in one arm while Megatron was whupping him all around downtown los angeles

I thought the fight was too one sided too and then I watched the very first episode of Transformers and Prime gets his butt handed to him by Megatron

he combines his arms to form a cannon. lame just mount the cannon on his arm he could still be an alien jet just my opinion. megatrons cannon is a big part of his character

I agree, we should have seen more of it since it was being built up throughout the whole movie. But, the bits we did see were awesome, just a bit TOO one sided.

prime got good hits on megatron, but it was all like from far away...lol. i remember people talking about brawl and starscream or w/e...but i was too busy focusing on the fight between optimus and megs.

and besides; after starscream and his buddies fired on megatron(i dont care if it's not true, it's true to me), prime tipped him. i was like "YES!" hahaha...but yeah, megs definitely had the upper hand.

^Definately, but as others have said, Optimus had the humans all around him in the back of his mind, he didnt want to hurt them.

Yeah I felt the fight was a little bland. Dialogue was excellent, but this is the ultimate clash of titans and it sort of came off as run of the mill.
Hopefully I'm right about Megs coming back in the sequel. I really wanna see a duel between Starscream and Megs near the very end for lordship of the Decepticons.

Then we need to have a long, fangasmic showdown between Prime and Megs at the end. t:

This i agree with, the sequel is likely to get a big budget increase, so they need to go no holds barred in the sequel with the fights.
