Anyone think Ryan Reynolds is in RDJ's league...charisma-wise?

I think I kinda do believe that. RR is an extremely likable guy with just a touch of "cocky"...similar to RDJ. If he is used in a similar fashion in this movie....would that help it take off at the box office?

From what I've seen of Reynold's in interviews and his SNL appearance he seems like a down to earth guy, doesn't take the Hollywood fame too seriously so yeah he seems likeable.

And he seems like a practical joker on set, supposedly Wesley Snipes couldn't stand him when doing Blade 3 but who's to believe in this case and he was funny as Deadpool in Wolverine.

Maybe his charm can make Green Lantern a sleeper hit like Iron Man only thing is the character of Tony Stark is a carefree playboy so RDJ playing him as a jerk is normal, I don't think Hal Jordan can be played like that but we'll see next summer.

I don't know why we are comparing the two actors. RDJ could never play Green Lantern because he doesn't look the part. As far as box office appeal, wait and see what happens when "Green Lantern" is released next year.

Who said that RDJ could play Hal? What are you talking about?

i think RDJ has mroe charisma. but Reynolds come close.

it will all depend what the director expects from him and how will they edit the footage in the editing room.

GL could be a fun summer movie with Reynolds.

Well If the two actors were similar (as the OP is asking if someone thinks that), one could play the other. My point is that there is no comparison since RDJ is no Hal Jordan.

I the only movie with RR I've seen is X-MEN.

Tony Stark is harder to cast because you need a smart actor who could win audience even if the role needs him to be a jerk. Ryan Reynolds should have an easier time as Hal Jordan.

Nah, RDJ is in a league of his own. Did you not see him work the 6500 people at Comic-Con last Saturday?

Really?
dude watch Van Wilder the 1st one, Waiting, Blade Trinty (only for his scenes) even go to hulu and watch old episodes of Two Guys, a girl and a pizza place.

The only people I can think of near RDJ's level of charisma is Depp, The Rock, and Denzel Washington.

Ryan Reynolds is incredibly charismatic, but I'd say RDJ is in a league of his own.

RR is pretty funny in real life... but Hal Jordan isnt

I'm sure Hal has been written, or at least re-written, to fit Reynolds comedic ability.

I'm not sure if thats a good or bad thing.

Reynolds probably add alot of his own stuff into the script

Not really comparing their ability to play each other's roles....just their personal level of charisma.

That's true. He's doing that every time I see him make a public appearance. Here he is introducing Eddie Van Halen at an awards show. Same RDJ...holding the audience in the palm of his hand.

But I just get a sense from watching RR that he has a little of that in him too. I'm not saying he's caught RDJ...just that maybe they play in the same league.
