I am heading up to New York city this weekend(the home of Spidey!!)to see the premiere of Hatchet. I'm pretty excited about it,but I've never been to NY before. I've heard all sorts or rumors about how bad traffic is,that you have to watch out for crime;etc, etc.
I would just like to hear from anyone who knows that area. Are things easy to find? Is traffic that bad(should I leave enough time to deal with it)? I sparking in garages or lts available? You know, things like that. I'll be coming from Pittsburgh and probably taking the Turnpike.
Also,if there's any good shops or stores a Spidey fan such as myself should check out? Thank to any info you guys can give!:woot:

I've never drove there. We've always took the train. I'd recommend parking outside the city and bus or train your way in and cab it or walk if you're centrally located. I wouldn't want to drive in that mess.

I know there are some nice comic books stores, but I'll be damned if I can remember where they are. I'd check out the yellow pages of your hotel, if you stay in one, and check to see what's close.

Upper Manhattan isn't that bad in the way of traffic. I'm assuming you mean Manhattan, right? Lower just sux for traffic.

Pretty much the only things about New York I know are Queens and Manhattan, little bit of Brooklyn. But I'm pretty sure you mean Manhattan. Check out Midtown Comics. They frikkin rule :)

I appreciate the info everyone! The movie theatre I'll be heading to is called the AMC Empire 25. I'm not sure but I think it's in downtown NY?

Stevens just wants to sexually take advantage of anybody who calls him when he is in NY. Next thing you know he will be wanting to come to your houses.

I'd have to agree with this, it's just so much less hassle to take a train in. If you don't know you're way around it's so much worse to park and everything.

That's right at times square. I watched Batman Begins from the theater across the street. Both are great places to watch a movie. Also you can meet a wax statue of Morgan Freeman and Sam Jackson a couple of steps down the block at madame tussauds.

Again,I really appreciate all the advice. From what I've read(and what you guys had told me),driving is hell on earth so I will park outside the city and ride the bus or train in. Any good places to park? I suppose I was gonna park somewhere in NJ. That is the best place I would guess.
