Nah, it just seems to be too competitively purposed for my tastes. Role-playing is a communal thing, not a "I'm better than you" thing. But, hey, that's just me.

Role playing is the only thing in life I'm good at, let me win something for once!

While there is definitely a strong competitive aspect here, I think the communal aspect is also reinforced substantially.
The Team environment directly calls on everyone to support their teammates and encourages constuctive discussion. Everyone can benefit from hearing the ideas of their teammates... the input could very well broaden people's thinking and improve their overall story-telling skills.

That, or they'll just kill eachother.
