Aquaman Trilogy?

I really don't like Aquaman. The only time I can tolerate him is in the context of the Justice League. And its not as if he is the most exciting character on Earth. It is a guy who talks to fish for godsakes. Give me a decent Flash, Green Lantern, Superman (emphasis on decent), Manhunter, and Wonder Woman movie...then maybe...after Plastic Man we can talk about Aquaman.

Hell yeah he is. Now I haven't seen Casino Royale, and I've heard great things, but before that James Bond has gotten terribly boring. Tomorrow Never Dies was just on TV earlier and it was ridiculous and boring. Car chase! Bike chase! Fight scene! Foot chase! another fight scene! When a character's gone on for so damn long, there's nowhere left to take the character in terms of character development and story, that you're left with nothing but repetive action scenes and chases.

hahaha. I was waiting for that one. The great thing about James Bond is that he's such an ambiguous character. He's so ambiguous that he's not even a character he's an archtype. Therefore, the movies tend to be dictated by the larger than life plots, beauitful women, and the psychotic villains, rather than the main protagonist. Because he's not really a character, countless movies could be made about him with out the character getting tired, as long as the plots stay top notch.

I don't think the comic book community wants an Aquaman character like that. Aquaman is actually a very interesting character and shouldn't be treated as a story vessel just to produce more movies.

I´m sorry, but that´s not true.
It might be true to James Bond, but, then again, his movies were never about character development, but rather his missions, with some traits of his throw in here and there.
It´s good, yes, but you need a good story and good directing, when you don´t, yes, 007 is boring.
As for comic book movies, you have, above all, character development, hundreds and hundreds of stories to use, so, no, if you know how to translate that into a movie, you can pass the #3 mark easily, with style and quality.

Back on track, i´m all for an Aquaman movie, but hold the trilogy unless you have a good story to tell that can be divided in 3.

I do think WB should release an Aquaman film in the same year whenever Namor is gonna be released. They've done that before with the likes of Volcano and Dante's Peak or Deep Impact and Armageddon for example.

This is something else to consider if Aquaman ever gets filmed. If its released the same year as Namor, it may take away some of the same audience, the non comic fan audience, who if they decide to see 1 water hero's movie, it may be the 1st one that comes out.

A list of people that I think can be Aquaman are Matt Damon, Sean Bean, Josh Lucas, Aaron Eckhart, Tom Jane, maybe Ben Affleck, and maybe Alan Ritchson from smallville. He looked exactly like AC in the smallville episode of justice when he had blond hair.

An Aquaman movie can be done. It will require a big budget though. You have to have all that GCi for Atlantis. You have to hire sea life trainers incase somethings goes wrong with animals I.E sharks. And plus you have to do his powers and show him talking underwater. it might cost a pretty penny but it can be done. All they need is one good Movie. Skip the trilogy. Start with one good movie.

Get all the facts down to see what the budget cost will be. Choose wisely in who directs it. Then put it out for the public and see if the returns catch up with the budget costs or go beyond. Then you can talk about the seqauls. In Ac's world there are lots of stories to be told. But only if done right.

Plus, another question is not with casting but with continuity. Will the orange and green costume honestly look good on screen?

Personally, I'd rather see an older, more jaded Aquaman than one played by a really young actor. Someone like Sean Bean would fit that bill nicely for me. Actually Bean could be a good Ocean Master.

As long as he still loses his hand, I would be satisfied.

hey, I myself have no problem with the character. and yes, a good movie can be made.

but the sad fact is, though, that A LOT of people in the general audiences and even among the comic book reading community see the character as a joke.

they might be able to make a good movie out of it. but to get enough BO success for a trilogy? it's a pipe dream. it'd be pretty cool to happen, if done right. but it WON'T.

specially if you consider the fact that the execs over at WB are a bunch of morons who have absolutely NO clue of how to deal with these properties.

And not to be rude but I won't sit hear and listen to a person that says something will never happen when I feel it can. I respect your opinion about the thought of Aquaman even getting a movie and in some ways that might be true. But I still won't believe it can't happen when things that people say can't happen happen almost everyday.

Alot of people said the bears would win the superbowl. And what happend? they lost.
