http://www.slantmagazine.com/film/review/the-wolverineThe trained actors on screen (including Fukushima and Hiroyuki Sanada) engage in breathless, rivetingly captured swordplay, and always register as bona fide warriors. The same goes for Jackman, whose physical dedication to this role is its own form of heroism. His veins bulging like exposed tree roots, the actor aptly looks almost the same as he did 13 years ago, when Wolverine first met Jean and the gang. The uncanny visual continuity only further grounds the character, and while he goes through motions typical to this genre's protagonists (moral dilemma, emasculation-by-nemesis, acceptance of power, Christ-like exultation), they aren't often glaring deficits. The Wolverine may be the year's best superhero movie because, for a sufficient amount of time, it doesn't feel like a superhero movie at all.

It seems the Top Critics just can't get over Xmen Origins
If this isn't a good film for Wolverine, there will never be one.
5 Rottens in a row now
If those comments were made about a woman, they would be called sexist.
Gotta love the double standard.
Anyway...
True. And got more naked in Origins than he does in that scene in The Wolverine. The scene is really funny, but there's no point in advertising it as a major selling point.
I like how two critics score it 2.5/4, one is fresh one is rotten.
I know it's weird...but the critics decide whether they want their review to be rotten or fresh.
I always love how one rotten review takes the score down a few notches, but in takes like 5 fresh reviews to bring it up one percentage!![]()
Yeah so I gather, ah well, it all academic now get to see it myself tomorrow and I trust the views of the people here more than any "top critic" anyway.
Does anyone know why IGN's and SFX postive ratings are not added to RT, do they not get added, those reviews were out nearly a week ago?
Although this film has Jackman in it which helps for the left leaning critics, they all love him.
