Bump

I'm still going with yes :D

:lmao: Yep, and the fact that 35 people actually claimed they weren't and argued ridiculous points that turned out not be at all true in the end just illustrates how deluded and willing to forgive anything some people were.

I don't recall the four had any new costumes at the end. It was always everyone in the so-called beta suits.

:funny:

I love the way people were like:

"These suits look good...

...but don't worry, these are obviously not the final suits and those will look much better."

So far this has been one of the most entertaining revisits I've had on the Hype.
I'd say "hindsight 20/20", but most of us seemed to have pretty clear vision when this thread was started.

Damn you Flint for bumping this thread and making me waste time going every glorious post. The fans of other franchises rallying behind FFINO! The banned users! The excruciatingly long word salads designed to confuse and dismay other posters! This thread has got it all!

The nice thing about this thread is it's concentrated. If you go back and read a lot of the older threads, you'll have several pages of sane posts with only occasional, scattered bat-sh** crazy posts. This particular thread seemed to attract and concentrate the bat-sh** crazy. :funny:

It's like a microcosm of the FF forum. :cwink:

Here are some of these "crazy" posts just from the first few pages:

well...they're not really superheroes so i can't view them as such

the two quicksilver costumes are worse imo if those are considered superhero costumes

Ten times better than the costumes from the previous films.
Especially given the rumored functions.
Ten times better, for one shouldn't just accomplishment by how much it nails what came before or what's in but rather in and off itself.

It's why people don't measure the new batman costume by the adam west(what came before) standard. What came before may very well suck in the grande scheme.

The costumes are fine. Your troll game is slipping

It's not even a superhero movie so this question is moot.

My suggestion would be to not overanalzye or over think about this movie because it will only make you more depressed. Life is too short to worry about such stuff. Cheer up :yay:

Are we even sure these are the costumes? This could just be some interim wear they have on prior to being suited up

I think the costumes will evolve as the movie progresses (or maybe in the sequel, if this movie is able to earn enough money.)

Again, still waiting to find out the part where you know these are the final suits?
1) The part about containment does little to that end. Even the final cheesy suits could be sleeker but refined containment tech.
2) Even if a costume appeared in the post credit scene of a movie that wouldn't mark the final outfit imo. Just look at the make shift suit in asm1 vs the 'final' in asm2, nolan didn't finalize his bat suit till midway into the second installment of the story. Point here being, throughout the movie or not, a temporary pitstop in the story of a character is just that, temporary on the road of progression. Especially if a franchise is planned. You are clearly of the mind that a movie can't be a chapter but rather something more, I'm thinking I feel differently.

I for one think there are too many conventions and even rules in these cbms today, especially the origins. For all peoples claims that such and such transcends the genre and becomes a spy this or that, it's these sort of conventions(the 'costume' in the second act) that truly argues the opposite to the likes of Sean Penn and Cronenberg and the many people that all these films are a lesser to and or the same.
imo.

I personally get that you don't want an entire movie about the mark one, however the question was that of judging it's creative worth in and of itself. I refuse to believe that monotone grey walking junk pile is only cool and interesting because it's comic accurate and only a precursor. I think it's cool and interesting because it is, whether it's the final or not.
That being said an entire movie about the most interesting part about that movie would do me just fine personally. That first act right into the army base reconciliation would be quite the character study imo.

Anyways, you're right I haven't been following. I just see what I see. And I'd argue that removing the white gloves and the 4 insignia doesn't stop this team from looking like the F4, especially in silhouette and with their powers blazing. But that's me. I'm the same guy that feels the more interesting magneto parts occur when he's not wearing the football gear.

I think their costumes/suits are in working progress... well arent they using those suits because they arent used to their powers yet or it doesnt have unstable mocelules like the costumes for the previous movies had. Maybe after they get used to their powers they wont need the containment suits and wear something more sleek and stylish.

"Worst" is quite vague as it provides no context.

if the intended context is them being based on a specific costume with a failure to capture that costume then no seeing as how they aren't based on the blue spandex costumes.

As costumes themselves I think they're done quite well, liking Johnny's with the heat disapation vents and Reeds with the various apparatus.

Creates a function to them which isn't done much in the genre.

I find the same principle applies to them as scientists rather than Superheroes.

The Fantastic Four are first and foremost scientists not heroes so them being presented as scientists has had outcrys of 'OMG, they're superheroes for gods sake just do it right!'

Many commenters on news articles and such really don't know the comics but are outraged at it not being like how they imagine the characters in the comic, or another way of putting it they look at something and say it's gonna be crap because it's not like their favourite comic of those characters but it nevertheless is still like the comics just a different but still official run or version.

It's a fair bet the costumes will evolve. Be it from the start of this movie to the end or through into the sequel

I think at some point they will have to ditch the vents and springs...hopefully in the film... theyll find something that would not burn or rip their costume apart everytime they turn on their ability.

I am curious to what Ben Grimm will wear before he transforms.. and if he is just gonna be naked everytime he turns into a rock.

I'm betting once they get better control over their powers those will go

:hehe:

I forgot the Fantastic Four reboot existed until I stumbled upon this thread. :funny:

I dislike this movie very strongly, but to answer OP, no. They are only marginally worse than the Tim Story movie costumes.

Worst in the last 20 years?

Honorable mention because of how out of place it is in an otherwise amazing show:

The only thing I don't like about Daredevil's suit is the horns. Even Foggy pointed out how they don't really work. :funny:

At least none of these suits have nipples like the Batsuit That Must Not Be Named.

The horns worked pretty well when Daredevil used them to headbutt people.:daredevil
