Are you too nice to your coworkers?

It's true, how do you think I became manager? :o

"Auctung swine, get back to work!" :cmad:

Well I guess I'll go far, cause I'm a raving *****.

I'm nice most of the time, but if my fellow/lower co-workers are just slacking off/talking when stock/duties need to be done, I kinda tell them to get going. It saves their ass and mine, since I'm on that shift too.

I'm a Senior Sales Associate, so when a manager puts me in charge of the floor, I AM the acting authority until they come back from counting a drawer, etc. I'm the top associate/seller at my store that's a non-manager too. And I'm the front-runner for the open key manager spot

Nope, I'm a real prick at work. Never missed a raise or a bonus.

I'm a manager. I yell at the people I don't like.

Oh, I'm a prick to the people I don't like. There is a cashier who's been a real ***** lately to everyone, managers, us, and the customers. She talks all day, does no real work. Even when customers ask her something (during her talking), she gives them a look like, "What the hell are you interrupting my conversation for?". I can guarantee if she pulls this crap for another week or so, I'll come back from camping and she'll be gone.

She's gotten an attitude with me lately, so I do the same to her. I'm a nice guy, but don't f*** with me or my friends. :)

Holy smokes, I can't believe someone made a thread about this. I've debated this exact same issue in my head over and over a million times, and yeah, I think I've gotta say I go way too far out of my way to be agreeable and affable on the job. So much so that sometimes I'll catch someone looking at me like I'm being sarcastic.

There are 13 people working at my store at the moment, and we're all close-knit. We joke around/pull pranks on each other when we have the time. But when a truck is unloaded/inventory/etc., we have to be on our A-game.

None of that 40 Year Old Virgin stuff. :woot:

"Aw, man! I just bought these pants!"

That sounds about like one of our girls at work. She has to constantly brag about everything that she has done in her life. We try to avoid her as much as possible.

No, like I threw a paintball at that cashier I was talking about. She thought it was a gumball, so she proceeded to eat it. :woot:

And of course you made no attempt to stop her. lmao

She's a nursing major at a community college. She's smart, but she's not street smart.

That's bull.......I'm department head, and I wouldn't have gotten there being an ass....but I'm not going to lie to someone if they screwed up, just like I wouldn't expect them to lie to me......we are all upfront with each other.....ya screw up, your're told, and then we help each other to fix it....to me its simply treating your co-workers with respect....and respect doesn't have to be sugar sweet....

Teachers don't count...........................................................................................................................................................................:o

I go out of my way to run Staples like a Nazi work camp. Works wonders for productivity.

How often do your superiors/district/regional managers show up?

Our DM shows up once a month. Regional maybe 3/4 times a year.
