Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5

Who's seen that new trailer with Arnold in it for his "come back movie"? The man can no longer play a Terminator.

You mean the movie that's on my most anticipated movies list for next year? For that role he's gonna rock it. (Not to mention the director). Arnold can definitely provide the action as Terminator, they would just need to pull a Benjamin Button for his look.

As much as I'd love a new Terminator, this franchise is so screwed up and crazy after T3 and T4 that I don't know if another would work.

I hate to say it, but maybe some type of reboot is the only thing that could save this franchise.

BTW - Nick Stahl as John Connor is the worst thing in any of Terminator movies.

If only they could get James Cameron to abandon those ridiculous space hippie movies and return to this franchise

Someone else said it earlier, but a semi-reboot a la Star Trek could work here.

Just pretend 3 and 4 never happened, and get it right.

I don't think he is capable of playing the Terminator again without someone working wonders with his makeup because even in Terminator 3, while he looked in superb shape for the arrival scenes, you could tell in his face that he had aged a good 20 years.. and this is supposedly the same make & model of machine that come off a production line. So he shouldn't look any older than he did in Terminator 2.

Arnold is the Terminator franchise though, I'd love to see him involved in some capacity.. even a cameo. I'd love for them to stick with a muscle bound Terminator & after seeing him in Fast Five, The Rock could make a badass Terminator.

I think the Rock would be a great Terminator!

Arnold is the Terminator series because they've never seriously attempted to move past him.

Even in Salvation (not that it made any difference) they found a way to get him in, even though it was completely unnecessary.

His inclusion in 3 was even more egregious, and caused a few blaring plot holes. But then the whole movie was a plot hole.

Stahl is clearly 10 times the actor Furlong is but I can't stand him as John Connor. He was just sooo wrong for the role for so many reasons.

Hell yeah. His role in Faster was very obviously inspired by The Terminator. Not to mention the ambush scene in Fast Five where he turns into a one man army.

I love The Rock and think he'd make an excellent Terminator.

What the next movie need is a good strong script and a more limited budget so the movies stop the bloat and a good out of the box choice of director. No more McG's or whoever the hell directed the 3rd film, mediocre directors aren't going to revive this franchise.

If there was only one person to replace Arnie as Terminator, it is the Rock. *remembers that famous Rock/Arnie scene in the Rundown*

As dude love said, all you got to see is him in Faster.

I would like to see a Terminator who can actually be convincingly human. The T-1000 had its moments.

In the right hands, that could be quite scary.

The only way Arnold could be The Terminator still is if they CGI'ed his face for the whole movie!

I love Arnie but the only way he can be convincing in T5 is they only used his voice and likeness. He looks his age and unlike Conan, that won't work for this role.

Yeah I don't want a complete reboot either, I was more thinking of the time travel aspect being introduced (fix all the errors that happened with the previous two films) and seeing the first T-800 being sent to 1984 while the war is happening in 2029. The sequel could easily take place in the following year in 2030 with T-1000 and T-800 being sent back.

The T-1000 and the second T-800 were also sent from 2029.

My idea was they'd do a 2029 movie and we'd follow Reese back in time but it would go wrong. He'd die on arrival, end up in the wrong time period, something. So if they HAVE to reboot it, that would be the starting point and it doesn't effect the traditional timeline. Or they could make a straight up sequel to 2029. Though I have no desire to see a 2032 movie with the T-X and Captain America John Connor dying on the 4th of July.

I also hate the idea of seeing Arnold as a human. It's like...I wouldn't want to see a Ledger Joker origin, why would I want to see this? I have no interest in seeing the killing machine as a human with a heart.

The problem with T-4 was that Sam played his part better then Bale who seemed to have phoned in his performance. Bale I thought would have been prefect as John Conner after Reign Of Fire.
But he kinda made the movie flat.

T3 I think had a great concept and Arnald was good in it. It suffered not having Hamilton and a better John Conner. The whole female Terminator was a great idea and The Actress playing her nailed it.

Well thats perfectly fine for its my own opinion. What do you think was right or wrong with the two movies

Can't say I like much about T3. It's hard to take the T-X seriously when the only thing it can say within the first minutes are "I like your car", "I like your gun". Then it grows it's boobs and has an orgasmic reaction to Connor's blood. Really? I hate how it's a retread of T2 yet states that T2 isn't really important and didn't matter because JD is inevitable, I hate the attempts at humor. The most talked about character in that movie is Mike Kripke. Apparently he had a basement.

Salvation has it's problems but at least it's fun. Bale is my favorite actor and with Terminator being my favorite franchise, that was a match made in heaven. I'd love to see him return in T5 but due to his experience on Salvation, I doubt he will. Worthington was fine as Marcus but there was no reason for the character to exist other than the writers of T3 hating John Connor. Connor should have been the only lead, I don't know how Marcus survived all those re-writes. His origin really doesn't make any sense. It might have if they hadn't dropped the Project Angel plot but that stuff was so bad anyway.

Best part about T3 for me was a deleted scene...

Sergent motherf***in Candy

Are you kidding Arnald In Terminator 1 had a punch line I'll be back. These are machines so vocabulary is limited. I think She played a great lethal killing machine.

The actress was fine it was the rehashy writing that hurt T3. I don't hate the 3rd and 4th films because they are mediocre not terrible.

It wasnt that bad.

Both Part 3 and Salvation are underrated movies.
