Dwayne Johnson Joining Terminator 5?

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=105686

Please let this happen.
The next chunk they have on the film is on the setting for the story. According to Examiner sources, the setting for Terminator 5 will be set before the birth of Sarah Connor and focus on her parents in the 1940s and 50s. This scenario would once again involve a Terminator(s) being sent back in time to kill a target, only this time it's decades before the attempts on Sarah and John Connor. None of this is confirmed at this time, but check back here for more information on the film in the future.

Sounds interesting and The Rock as the terminator is near perfect.

I think they should cut Arnie out and just make Dwayne Johnson the new Terminator.

Faster was pretty much him as a Terminator. If he does get picked I agree, it should be a new franchise.

I guess I can't say I give up on this series, since I already said that with Salvation, but come on! Dwayne Johnson?

This is like the Simpsons. Make the pain stop.

Dwayne gets a lot of hate and I can understand that, coming from WWE and blah blah... we've heard it all before.

I've seen 'Snitch' and I thought it was brilliant. By far the best performance he's done to date. I'd be happy to see him in T5.

Frankly, I'm sick of the time travel thing. I don't mind there being some sort of time-bending plot lines or devices, but I think the basic plot formula used in the first 3 movies needs to be avoided like the plague.

Oh, and Dwayne in anything is always good.

Yea +1 to no more over-reliance on time travel.

The 1940s and 50s? Well that's different, for sure. Sounds like they may screw up the timeline even more though.

I just want a sequel to Salvation - directed by Peter freaking Jackson. That man can direct a war movie.

There weren't many guys around in the 40s and 50s that look like Dwayne and Arnie.

Plus the fact their Terminators?! People will s**t bricks!

Might as well throw in a John Hamm terminator for the inevitable 1960s sequel-prequel.

I could buy the Terminator being a big bulky guy because of technological limitations in the 80's, back when robots were the size of fridges, but now, after the T-1000, and the T-X?

I'd give anything to see a teaser like this in cinemas again.

When I first read 'Dwayne Johnson' and then '1940's' I initially lol'd. But then I read it again and thought this could be pretty cool. I just want to hear the old theme again, that's all I ask.

Meh. Not real thrilled about the prospect of another time-travel story. It'll make people wonder why Skynet didn't just set up a time platform at the end of the assembly line and send the dials a-spinnin'...where the robots goes, nobody knows! :oldrazz: But I digress.

Actually, instead of putting the Rock and Arnold together for a fifth Terminator film, I'd almost (ALMOST) prefer to see them do a remake of "Westworld" with the Rock as the Gunslinger and Arnold as the retiree on vacation at Delos who ends up ticking him off...just for the kick of giving the audiences a switch: this time it'd be Arnold himself as the human targeted by a killer robot.

The Rock would be pretty great terminator, he is a phenomenal actor

Johnson was great in Pain and Gain and has turned into a wonderful actor and I disagree with anyone who says differently. I'd watch Johnson in anything.

I don't think he's a particularly great actor but he's passable and has screen presence due to his size and look. I wouldn't cast him as a Terminator though as he's best when he can use humour, he'd be better as a soldier from the human resistance trained specifically to be sent back and fight a Terminator IMO.

If this is true... I can't believe we're still not getting the actual future war 2029. Jesus. Another Terminator chase movie? REALLY?!

He's way better than passable. As usual you are wrong again honey but that's doesn't stop me from loving you. :hrt:

I was being nice when I said he was passable, you're blinded by his toothy smile and roidy muscles. ;) :hrt:

Anyone who doubts Dwayne's acting ability should watch 'Snitch'. Top class.

As I said before, best performance he's done so far.
