The ending elevated the episode. Laurel learns that Sebastian is the devil while Oliver is going "Sebastian is my friend."

Not a strong episode to come back with, except for the ending that will lead into the next. Dinah Laurel wasn't bad in this one.

I thought it was a great episode.Ollie was in "The Suit" more than his civilian duds, which has been something I've wanted to see.(It's always the mark of a good CB show.:awesome:)

A lot of it was basically set up for Blood's future showdown with Arrow.I liked the new alliance between the two.(Although it likely won't last more than an episode)The Laurel haters will likely be disappointed that she wasn't stuck in a bad storyline this week, but did some clever investigating into Brother Blood.

Can't say I was impressed with Shrapnel. The guy needed a costume! What do they got against costumed villains in this show?

The Ollie/Felicity fight/make-up was....alright....but I really don't "ship" the two,so I hope they don't continue to lay it on this thick.

Flashbacks were ok. Slade apparently got a shave and haircut in his grief.:hehe:

I enjoyed seeing Roy's emerging powers. That should be a cool storyline to follow.

Looking forward to the next episode. Was that...Deathstroke?

It looks like Laurel will be the one to begin to uncover Blood's true nature/intentions. Considering how they've given her NOTHING interesting to do so far this season, I welcome this development. Make her useful for a change. Heck make her be right about Blood and Oliver be wrong, that'd be cool to see.

Shrapnel did nothing for me. He was extra extra plain.

Agreed; I'm actually glad that they are not going down the route of having her hook up with him to create angst like I originally thought they would previously.

too bad we didn't get to see Summer Glau this episode. Would have been cool to see her and Shrapnel together in a Firefly reunion of sorts

The "freak of the week" villain was pretty weak.

However, we got very strong development on Brother Blood. He was featured heavily and it was all very well-done. Seeing him lie his way through his sob story with Laurel and then the zinger ending.

I was somewhat iffy on Blood being the season 2 main baddie (well, one of them) but this episode really added to his character.

8/10 , even thought I voted 7....thinking back the Oliver/Felicity stuff adds an extra point. That was well-done.

Well I agree it's an 8/10....but I gave it a 9 just because Arrow is back

It was good, but great for Brother Blood. Guy's a cool villain. It was never gonna top the midseason finale.

If Laurel gets any skinnier we won't be able to see her anymore so that solves that problem.

Not sure about Diggle running into a loaded gun though.

Not the best episode, felt a lot like filler, but next ep should be awesome

They need to do a better job on the villains, if the are gonna half ass the villains like this then forget freak of the week.

I didn't mind the villain, but they need to stop basing them on comic villains, if they can't actually make them like the comic.

Did anyone else think at first, that the villain was Arrow's take on Batman Beyond's character Mad Stan?
Mad Stan is a radical anarchical terrorist who fights against "the system", which he sees as corrupt. His main solution to everything is merely to "blow it up". He has a wide arsenal of explosives and is an expert in using them.

One of my coworkers at school initially thought he was Anarky.

Shrapnel, or at least the concept used, was the only problem with the episode. But the actor clearly had fun playing him, and if they give him an overhaul, even if it's just a protester's bandana around his mouth with a Shrapnel design and some kind of silvery looking body armor, I'd say we've got a keeper. But he needs a visual overhaul. Even the traps they gave him were actually pretty interesting. I loved the way they had Arrow defeat him just for the sheer snarky simplicity of it, and the laser trap was actually and effectively thrilling trap.

Blood had some great scenes to show how he's more of an ambitious, callous, but still charming villain. I'm betting he's going to have his own agenda, and I think he may actually usurp Deathstroke's role as the season's Big Bad, though I bet Slade will continue as a series one. Blood will bring in Grundy as his trump card and go rogue, while Slade and Ollie will get involved in a three way war with him.

The character moments were great for Thea and even Laurel. I still think they've made Lotz's Sara too interesting to be replaced without massive rage and disappointment, but if they move Laurel towards actually being useful, like Tommy was at the end of Season one, the character will probably win some fans back, though probably not as Black Canary.

Bennett wasn't given much to do, but he nailed his scenes and still proves to be probably the best actor in the cast. The character felt sincerely sorrowful when he gifted Ollie Shado's hood, and his recognition that she probably liked Ollie better was a nice humble touch before we got to see his darkness, and then Bennett impressed again with his horror at his lack of control.

All in all, a strong co eback after the hiatus, but next week's episode looks like it will be the crowd favorite to ensure the audience stays locked.

DEATHSTROKE IS HERE!

Solid episode to return on.

- The mask looks good. Ollie's not lowering his head when talking to Quentin anymore.

- The way Ollie took down Shrapnel was hilarious. Shooting the cord was so obvious. :funny:

- Blood is quite the spinster with the stories.

- Katie Cassidy needs to eat a sandwich. Looks like she got skinnier since the last episode she was in.

- I really wanna know how Roy handles his current situation.

My only nit pick is Shrapnel was using a Dead Mans Switch which means he should have been holding down the button and if anything made him let go of the button he would have blown it all up so Arrow cutting the cord would not have worked and it all should have gone BOOM. But that's not good tv haha

Well, that actually kind of helps the scene make sense.

Shrapnel: "This is a dead man's switch!"

Ollie: "...Yeah, so...why aren't you pressing it?"

Shrapnel: "Why would I press it? Then it would go off!"

Ollie: "..." (Rolls his eyes, shoots the cord.) " Incompetent criminals are the best."

I was thinking he would've made for a better Firefly than this...

That was a strange episode. Oliver just stood there and watched Firefly kill himself after screaming at him to reconsider not even 30 seconds earlier.

I thought this episode was alright. I liked the villain and wouldn't mind seeing him again. The Oliver/Felicity stuff was a mixed bag. I'm going to be honest: I don't want them to end up together. I understand Felicity has always been attracted to Oliver, but Oliver never reciprocated those feelings. Instead, he dismissed and occasionally even expressed discomfort over them. We were never given the opportunity to see Oliver's feelings develop organically, and because of that, I have no interest in them as a couple.

That said: Emily and Steven are absolutely fantastic. You could have cut the tension between them with a knife. Their argument was actually kind of uncomfortable to watch.

I rolled my eyes at the Ollie and Felicity stuff, especially at the end of the episode. The writers know what they're doing and part of me thinks they're just trolling the shippers out there. I bet there are plenty of gifs on tumblr and videos on YouTube with that scene by now.
