S5 EPISODE 14 - The Sin-Eater

China White (guest star Kelly Hu), Cupid (guest star Amy Gumenick) and Liza Warner (guest star Rutina Wesley) break out of Iron Heights and head to Star City for revenge. Oliver (Stephen Amell) tries to bring in the newly formed girl gang but the ACU intervenes mid-fight. To his surprise, they are there to arrest the Green Arrow for the murder of Detective Malone. Meanwhile, Lance (Paul Blackthorne) feels responsible for the prison break after Warner tells him she heard about him working with Damien Darhk.

If the actress was available, I imagine Huntress would have been used in this episode. It is a shame that she isn't.

I'm not looking forward to seeing Cupid again.

So are they suppose to be Star City Sirens?

There's something refreshing about seeing Quentin in the field with Oliver, given how far they've come.

And seriously, Cupid shouldv'e been locked away at Belle Reve by now. You don't have a former Suicide Squad member alongside other prisoners.

While I understand what Thea was trying to do, I think it went a little too far.

Didn't really care for the trio

As for Susan, I doubt that will be the last we seen from her.

Did anyone on the team train Mr. Terrific in martial arts or in combat because seems he always on the ground lately. That needs to change.

Aside from Cutter, White and Warner, I enjoyed the episode.

Vigilante vs Oliver next week!!!

Pretty good episode. I liked that the three villains teamed up and worked together. The last 15 minutes was quite action-packed.

The trio of villains were underused aside from Warner. They would have been better served by a less crowded episode that could have focused on them more.

I liked Mr. Terrific's new costume.

I disliked Thea's arc until midway through when I realized that her decision really was similar to one her mother would have made. It's a nice call-back to seasons 1/2 showing the continuing impact growing up with a mother like that had.

Great episode. Had the potential to be bad but was very good overall.

That was a good episode, and the best since "Second Chances" IMO. I liked Thea in this episode, as well as Oliver and Quentin. Even though it is being "frowned upon" by Oliver and the show, I liked what Thea and Felicity did to Susan. It fits Felicity's dark path and the comparison Oliver made between Thea and Moira was an apt one. Something questionable like that with her families safety being her main concern is something Moira would have done. I enjoy how Thea was trying to look out for Oliver in her own way. Moira has certainly had an influence on her when it comes to protecting her family.

Yeah - I actually agreed with what Thea did.

I wish they had gone into more about the "sin-eater" story and how it relates, it just felt glossed over.

I'm really curious as to how this Russian story kind of adds together.

Funnily enough, Thea said to Susan early on in the season that if she crossed her, she would ruin her and all she would have left is a blog. It seems she kept her promise.

I thought overall this was a good episode. I liked Thea's story this episode, I enjoyed very much. I found almost everything involving Dinah Drake very cringe worthy though, I just hate how they try to elevate Laurel after her death.

I feel like Arrow is gradually getting better. I honestly just barely enjoyed the first half of the season.

I've come to like Wild Dog a little more now. Still is he anything besides being a guy in a hockey mask? Using hockey sticks and roller blades would make him cooler, of course you can't do that though. Casey Jones.

I can buy him being a young guy that has a child but what...but that young, I just didn't buy it.

Still last week, I noticed there's a problem, I mean I've noticed it for a while this season. Okay, I didn't like Wild Dog before, but I like him better now, but everyone else, there's been way too many characters. I tend to forget about some people and their problems.

Ragman sucks, and he's weird. I could care less about him. Artemis too. Mr. Terrific...well he should have costumed up late in season 4. I felt like Ragman and Artemis were pretty useless additions to the show, and Wild Dog somewhat up until recently, he's been a better supporting character.

Then there's Thea, who doesn't have much to do this season, but with what little we've had of her this season, I think they've done pretty good with her character. Quentin has been missing for a while, but has been back recently.

Ragman, I don't even remember his real name, has been absent two episodes. Sometimes you get too many characters, and realize you can't fit some of these people in one story.

Dinah Drake is growing on me but that's another character that is yet again another recruit. More and more people have to find out Oliver's secret.

I said this before that I think, killing off Laurel was when the show officially jumped the shark, and it's not something that can actually be fixed.

Smallville, may have continuously disappointed fans episode after episode. Season 7's finale almost destroyed the series' potential and reputation. But it was season 8's finale (Henry James Olsen) that damaged the rest of the series permanently. As much as I enjoyed season 9 somewhat throughly, I enjoyed it less, I was still depressed and not able to overcome the whole Henry James Olsen plot. Not because I liked or disliked the character but because of how utterly stupid and pathetic it was. It was unfortunate that the rest of the series had to be affected by such a stupid plot because of the creators own production problem mistakes, it ruined so much that came before it. Like the last 3 years was just a bad dream. Making the whole season's plot and conclusion revolve around this whole 'Henry' James Olsen thing so that Clark can cut ties with humanity. Why did we want that? As opposed to Clark vs Doomsday.

Okay, Arrow's problem with Laurel was no where near that bad, but how the whole season concluded was awful...and now we have to see Oliver be mayor. I've been accepting it as of now though.

Only mid-way towards this season now is when I've been starting to enjoy it. I just feel like because of the way season 4 damaged the show, it did so in such a way that I can still enjoy the show, but unfortunately I won't be able to enjoy the show as much as I did the first 3 seasons. Because Laurel's death was permanent. By permanent, I mean maybe the show won't ever be the same again. And also Oliver and Felicity breaking up because Ollie didn't tell her he had a child. Then taking Darhk out like it was so easy all along who in the end, didn't seem that much different from Ras Al Ghul.

Any idea by this point who Prometheus is? I think it would turn out to be disappointing if Oliver's mayor assistant turned out to be Prometheus because that would be reminiscent of season 2 and unsurprising.

I enjoyed this episode. I didn't mind seeing Cupid again. I believe her humor can be applied to the series as long as it isn't over-the-top. I've enjoyed her appearances for the most part even though her first appearance in the season 3 episode was a little silly.

But seeing her with China White, and the other outlaw back in season 4...okay personally I don't find her a good companion with the other two since she's just kind of ordinary, whereas China White is a master assassin and Cupid has cupid arrows and is also a master assassin, but the cop-gone-bad lady is just a regular bad guy.

Regardless of China White and Cupid's return, I was mostly more interested in the other plot involving finding Prometheus, Sandra finding out Oliver is the Green Arrow, and...how long will Oliver be accused of killing Felicity's boyfriend?...which he did though.

I hope they have Barry help out once and find out that Oliver killed Felicity's boyfriend.

I wonder are they planning to have Oliver reveal that he is the Green Arrow to the city eventually.

Probably about the same time Barry Allen reveals to Central City he is The Flash and Kara Danvers reveals to National City she is Supergirl.

And when Bruce Wayne reveals to Gotham City that he's Batman.

In the comics, there was a time where Olivers identity as the Green Arrow was made public, and he still operated as a hero (he was unmasked by the police after killing Prometheus).

I loved the last episode. China White and Cupid are two of my favorite recurring villains. I think it's mostly because I have always loved Kelly Hu and the chick who plays Cupid is beautiful. The only problem was that there was way too much plot shoved into one episode (Oliver trying to convince the cops to back off Green Arrow, the villains trying to find Tobias Church's money, Quentin trying to talk reason to Liza Warner, Thea ruining reporter chick's career to protect Oliver, Dinah finally taking on Black Canary, etc.)

There was WAY too much plot going on for one episode.

It would have been better if they stuck to the main plot of Team Arrow trying to catch the fugitives and Cupid, China White and Liza Warner butting heads (as villain do) and how that plays out.
