Arguably, she didn't know that, though.

They know they are prisoners and this fantasy world is a creation of the Doms. So leaving her behind is leaving her a captive. What they didn't know was that they were hooked up to alien mind control devices.

It ends up being a weird quirk in the writing...

And yeah, they should have split the crossover and 100th episode. It was a great Arrow episode, but a weak crossover episode.

I found the episode really good. But one thing got me the eyes wet : Oliver being obliged to leave Dinah. I was feeling that the episode was going the way of "For the man who has everything" and I was even more stressed to see how fragile Olliecan be when it comes to Dinah. That was a good thing, cool stuff to watch/feel. Well acted I though.

This felt like a Suicide Squad inspired story. Like Suicide Squad, the heroes are tempted by illusions of a better life. The difference? Arrow did it better. Arrow did it much better, for a fraction of the budget. Someone call up the makes of Suicide Squad: this is how you tell a story about wounded people being tempted by illusions of a better life.

The reason why Supergirl wouldn't use the Medusa virus is obvious, it's not in her character. It's a weapon designed to wipe out entire species, and she was horrified just to learn of it's existence (and her father's role in creating it). So she's not going to turn around and use it herself.

However, it was probably poor planning/timing to have an episode devoted to a plot about an alien-killing virus, only to then immediately pull her into a crossover about hostile aliens invading Earth. It raises questions (for some people anyway) that didn't need to be there.
I am not saying they should have used the virus...

I just didn't like that she withheld that information from everyone, it's their earth, their family/friends/their peoples life's at stake
(not that she should have condoned the use of it, but, only mentioned it as a last resort)

it shouldn't have been her call alone on rather or not to use it (just because she has personally objections to it)

and she should have had faith in them to choice not to use it on their own
(even though, she literal just meant most of them)

Love this episode. Stephen's acting was sick. Thea was perfect. Diggle as GA made sense. Dream sequence episodes could be done really cheesy or really well. The writers hit the spots that needed to be punched. It was nice seeing Laurel back, even as a cameo. Felicity is married to someone else, as it should be. This is another favorite I'll remember. The writers are bringing the stories back! I feel like this was more of a stand alone than a crossover but it worked so well.

Perchance to Dream, I remembered that Batman:TAS episode watching this one.
And near the end, this turned to Saints Row IV. At least the characters had clothes on in this story.
