ART OF X3 Book in my possession

Well we sorta got that effect at the end of x2.

Deleted Scene at the lake before Jean comes back

Scott - "Jean"

Jean - "Yes Master"

Scott - "Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeee"

See, I hate seeing stuff like this, because it shows me what we could've had. Like the Phoenix effect: Why the hell wasn't that concept employed? Or even the ones Retroman found? Seeing the proposals now just makes what we got in theatres look so unbelievably lackluster.

Kill Rothman

Kill Hugh

Kill Halle

Kidnap the writers

Torture them until they tell you who decided to not do what

Kill those involved

Problem solved

Erm...what would Hugh Jackman or Halle Berry have to do with the Phoenix's special effects sequences? Neither of them are playing that character.

Either it was a.) not written into the script or b.) Tom Rothman didn't give enough budget/time/freedom to get it done.

Just got the book! It's really great and it's got the Phoenix rise (from the lake) concept art and storyboards and lots of photos i've never seen before. I wish there was more though.

Something i was a little surpised to see was the credit Guy Dyas (production designer on X2) gets for his work on Angel. His concept design inspired the look in X3.

why? what's the point? you want to see him die again pointlessly in pictorial format?

One thing that I have seen that kicked butt in the production art despite how much I hated the concept was how Wolverine emoted when killing Jean at the end, in the art I saw he holds her in her arms while he's kneeling on the ground as jean herself is lying down dead... the look of Wolverine there kicked ass, he was seriously in complete heart break... a better picture of emotion than what Jackman pulled off in his relatively decent performance in the movie.

I'd rather see him die over and over again for hours, than having to watch one more second of Wolverine.

I have those designs on my computer along with the Archangel ones. They were pretty cool

Does anyone have that funky Mystique concept from the Art of X3 book? They should post it if they do ;)

Where did you get it Retro? I am still looking for it.
I orderd the hard cover version from the Dutch/Belgian site Proxis.com Took about 3 weeks to arrive.

Barnes & Noble and Amazon have it and so do some comic book stores. At least they do here.
