Wolverine Origins Sequel

I don't care who writes it as long as he squeezes in a Gambit cameo or better in it. :D

"or better"?

If Gambit were to be in half the movie...? *squee!*

Hey, I'd be game!:woot:

Probably wouldn't happen since it's Wolvie's movie, but you never know, right?

I hope we see more of Sabertooth because i really want to see how he becomes the Sabertooth from XOW to X1 And i think Fox will put Gambit in the sequel because people went to go see XOW because it had X-men Characters like Gambit they won't go see a movie for Silver Samurai and The Hand.

It's good that Christopher McQuarrie is on-board, he's wrote a few good screenplays, and one whopper (USUAL SUSPECTS). That said, I'll find it hard to be even the least bit hyped about the sequel considering that one of my favourite novelist/screenwriters (David Benioff) turned in a good script that with some adjustments could have been a great gritty action movie, and through Fox or Jackman or who-ever-it-doesn't-really-matter produced something that I still have no interest in seeing.

Would definitely not mind seeing Singer come back to direct the Wolverine sequel.

This is great news. Anyone read his original X1 script? Its actually pretty damn fun.

I just hope fox doesn't tear it to shreds, though.

Don't you worry, by the time McQarrie turns in his first draft, Rothman will have his pack of hacks (Skip Woods, James Vanderbilt, etc.) to rewrite it to make it more kid-friendly.

People give to much credit to Fox for what they don't like in these films. It really doesn't make sense.

But Hopefully they bring back Sabertooth, which i would like, but I would like it if they introduced someone else in Wolvies past too.

I dont mind them wanting to bring in mutants, because in the end, how many chances are there realistically to see some mutants on screen and no matter what, these films work in a world where there is mutants. I get it when they bring in a character that doesn't fit (Emma in the first movie, i would say Gambit too, but they used him and his backstory in a cool way to fit)

Oh and rofl @ Juggernaut33 calling James Vanderbilt a hack. O.....K.

I dont know why everyone is so crazy on seeing Gambit again. Yea he is one of my favorite Xmen characters but I dont think he'd fit in this story line.

This movie should be more about Wolverine and his fight within himself. His memories are broken and abstract and his journey to find who he really is. I feel all you need is Wolvy, that plot, one main villian and a ton of side "bad guys" for him to rape with his claws.

I dont wanna see random cameos just because people think they are cool characters. Save that for their own Origins movies or for the Xmen Reboot. If they dont help the story in any way (Gambit did a little in Wolvy Origins 1) then I dont want to see them there.

If they wanna bring is some sweet characters LEMME SEE SOME ALPHA FLIGHT woot woot!

Thats just my beef but I LOVE WHERE THIS THREADS GOING! :bh:

Keep up the discussions guys!!!

I think they are saying they want to see Gambit cause they are the Gambit Gals...they looove him.

Eh then I want to see him play a role. The worst thing in the world is seeing a character I actually enjoy like Gambit for 5 minutes in the film. Its such a horrible tease. The previews of him are basically all there is in the movie. I want him if he is in here to be a role player maybe help Wolverine on his quest to find out who he is.

Id hate to see another 5 minutes of Gambit. Id rather see a whole movie of him then that bulls&$# again.

Alpha Flight? Hell YES! I also agree with the random cameos point.

My advice would be to fully splinter Wolverine/Logan from the X-Universe in the next film. Use the Claremont/Miller story mentioned and forget about injecting X-mutants that don't fit. We don't need to see a Gambit or Havok or Polaris or anyone else. Give us a pure and gritty Wolverine and save the other stuff for X-Men First Class.

I agree with you there. I'm hoping the extra mutants were just in Wolverine to set up First Class and there will be no reason for them in this.

I got excited about McQuarrie at first, he has wrote some great movies and wrote and directed TWOTG which is an awesome movie, but i'm sure, even if he writes a belter script, Fox/Rothman will find some way to ruin it.

That would make me a very happy fan.

I want to be excited about this. I really do. But after watching that last interview with Hugh and seeing him "hmmming" and "hawing" about how it will be "pretty" close to the actual story and there will be "lots of mutants" . . .

. . . . .

WHY!?

My favorite Wolverine stories are where he *doesn't* have to have a big face-off against mutants. It's where he stays low, uses his head, and just falls back on his mutant power when he has to.

WHY?

I think I just gave up on having an opinion on these films. I'll see it, but I'm not gonna be looking for spoilers or any new info about it. I just stopped caring after being let down by this XMO.

The X-Men series is in Jaws territory. This will be the 5th X-Men movie... and it wouldn't surprise me if this one were in 3D.

Yeah. There's a reason I haven't popped into this part of SHH since I saw XMO. It killed my hope.

I'll still pop in here every once in a while, but I got nothin' left for them.

wait.....what "Japanese Saga" storyline are we talking about exactly?

If it's the graphic novel "Wolverine" by Claremont and Miller, where Wolverine goes to Japan to win back Mariko's hand by challenging her father Shingen, I don't really remember "lots of mutants" in that story........??

Well since they just announced that a writer is signed, then the script isn't written yet, and it means he doesn't have an official answer to that yet either.

I'm definitely against cramming in a lot of unnecessary cameos, but the regular audience does seem to enjoy it. When I saw XMO on opening night and those were the scenes the audience responded to the most.

What does "sex" have to do with the Japan arc...right now, to me, with the "a lot of mutants" thing and "sexiness" crap...Hugh is saying all the wrong stuff...!

Well, he's saying the right stuff for the mindless masses.

<head meets wall>

Sabertooth can't really be in it can he?
As far as i'm aware Wolverine didn't know who he was in X-men..
I took it as Wolverine smelt Sabertooth, he recognized the smell and in the past (which he can't remember) associated it with danger.
I can't remember any other encounters in X-men where Logan actually recognizes Sabertooth.

Plus Logan will have to rediscover his claws and healing power won't he? That would be fun to see him rediscover his healing.
