It has a certain "Shusterness" to it - the huge bulking look has been replaced/reafffirmed heroic with inner strength apperance!

You should see Frank's Lois (the print version of the article has a couple other characters too).

In fact, IIRC it was mentioned earlier that one of the arcs Donner is working on is basically what he would have come up with for "Superman III".

Yeah I did see Lois, but on the contrary I'm not a big fan of the portrayal. Same for Luthor.

That's pretty awesome, IMO. I'm not particularly crazy about his Bizarro, but I can't help but like the idea of having an ink-and-paper facsimile of Reeve.

Maybe it's years of watching the shows and movies, but the huge muscular Superman has always been a put off for me. To me, it looks better when the muscles aren't bulging through the suit in extreme detail. This look makes it looks like he's wearing a form fitting suit and nothing more. It doesn't look dorky or anything. His physique looks just as good as any real actor who's played Superman and that's enough.

Wow, , that is one of the greatest Superman drawings I've ever seen as well. Very nice. Looks like Reeve.

I'm glad to see more of the classic styles coming back. I hate scratchy, crappy, artwork, and kids these days think that and anime junk is so great 'cause they're brainwashed and don't know what actually looks good.

Although when it comes to superman, I haven't seen any bad artists draw him, as far as I can remember, except for that one artist who did I think the first part of the latest Superman/Batman arc, looked like scratchy anime garbage. Saw the wall over at DC.com.

I think you must mean Dustin Nguyen (sp), yeah I held off buying the title until that arc was finished.

Looks mighty impressive. I've never really liked the bulky version since I pretty much identify Superman with Reevesque physique. Just looking that makes me interested on what he's thinking or about to do.

It's a great picture for all the reasons a lot of you have said, but the stooped posture and nervous fidgety looking hand positions make him look like he's someone posing as Superman and hoping no-one will notice.

This was a sketch. The actual work looks fantastic and is probably going to end up my favorite rendition of the man of steel.
