ASK MSJ (The Complete History)

Guys, just so you know, a new thread has been started. It's an Ask MSJ thread number 4. New questions should go there.

http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212831

Enjoy!

Uhm why? He hasn't finished answering the questions in this thread, so why would he go to the new thread and thus ignore dozens of questions?

Lock the other thread and when MSJ is done here, re-open it. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Once MSJ looks over the questions he picks the ones he can and is willing to answer.

I know that, my point is that since his last round of answering questions, he hasn't returned to answer any of the questions that where asked after his latest answers. It's only fair to everybody that every question gets equal oppertunity to be heard.

Well his visits are rare. He doesn't really have to time to come back and comb through the same thread over and over. He picks the questions he wants to answer and does the best he can. He has answered alot of important questions and if you think your question is a good and unanswered (go back and look through the other Ask MSJ threads and see) then go ahead and post it in the new Ask MSJ thread.

Yeah I'll do that, but I'll see if he'll maybe finish up this thread first. If not then I'll ask it again. All I wanna know is the status of Daredevil 2. So do many other fans.

Well considering Ghost Rider is the main focus I doubt Daredevil questions are gonna get answered.

You gotta stay positive.

I believe all of the unanswered questions in this thread were moved to the new thread anyways, so he'll see them regardless

Hey Mark... I'll keep this short and to the point. Here are the things that went wrong with Daredevil (please note I truly enjoyed the film and loved the director's cut), and should be avoided for Ghost Rider:

1. effects: unfortunately some shots in DD play out like a video game... if you can't pull it off properly due to time and/or budget don't do it... you're a film maker, there are work arounds that can be just as effective.

2. story: without a story (or extensive visual vocabulary for that matter) you're left with something that has as much personality as a car commercial. Your director's cut truly added substance to your picture so I am sure you'll never let another project of yours be butchered again.

3. music: ouch. DD's soundtrack hurt. Sure some may say that certain songs were top forty hits and broke bands out and so forth, but use it sparringly not as a narrative piece. Scores are timeless. What gives an audience goosebumps still, Danny Elfman's score to Batman or 'Batdance' by Prince? Of course certain scenes like the biker bar need songs, but Elektra's training scene might feel like it is being dumbed down in time.

So that's it - you are a talented guy and your heart is in the right place so I am sure you'll do GR justice. Just wanted to give you my two cents.

Sorry if this sounds kind of stupid but at the rate this film's release has been moved around is there still hope that we might see it this year in some bizarre final release change? (maybe say the week of halloween).
Also, I know it is still 7 months away but are you guys planning anything for this years Comic-Con? It would be great to know this soon so I could start saving up some Australian peso to get a ticket state-side!

It would be ultra-cool if they released it on Halloween night. I know that's highly unlikely but a man can dream...

Halloween is unlikey now especially with today's news. Marvel just signed a huge agreement with Hasbro to make all of it's toys starting in 2007. This gives Marvel huge exposure worldwide which Toy Biz could not provide and Marvel will surely want Ghost Rider to be part of this. See General movies section for this info under Marvel films.

Unless I'm reading the news wrong. I think Hasbro fully takes over in 2007 and Ghost Rider is from what I understand going to have a great toy line.

Oh I didn't hear about that, cheers Advanced Dark.

Ghost Rider was one of my favorite comic books when I was a kid... I'll be at the movie opening night!

Just one question, if it's been answered before I'm sorry (if so anybody that knows can answer).

Who built the bikes?

Thanks

Exactly, I moved them to the Part IV thread.
http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212831

In addition, I've combined and sorted all the previously answered questions in this thread: http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217085

This thread can kinda die now I guess... as much as I hate to see threads die.

More from third thread.

Perhaps an onset pic with you and cage. Something behind the scenes, what the credits will look like (obvoiusly fire)...anything. We're falling....must...stay awake...trapped in a sea of moss!!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Must call Superfriends.

we as fans have recieved alot more from him than most of the other fans have recieved on their latest superhero movies....i am glad we have what information we do have....i am not saying i wouldnt want some more (Blackheart, Blackheart, BLACKHEART!!) but what i am saying is that we have found out alot of positive things....we even have some great video of The Rider.
What i am trying to say is that we have a helluva lot more than say, x-men. and that is coming out in a few months.....we should relish in what we have

now, would i like more information: sure, but for now i am happy with what he was nice enough to go out of his way to give us. no rush...i think the other boards are so hostile because they dont have faith in the other movies.....we as Ghost Rider fans have faith....we know, with what we have seen so far, that it will turn out great.....you dont really want it spoiled right away...do you? how long have we waited for The Rider to ride on the silver screen? what is a few more months??

Toxin

The problem is we got so damn much at the same time they annouced a delay of over a year...and then nothing. I'm not complaining in my first post I was just asking for him to throw a few more bones our way. At the same time I don't want the movie spoiled to soon so I guess it's a catch 22.

I was wondering with the release date of the film been changed, do you have to stay committed with this film until its release or are you free to start developing new projects. If so, at this stage are you able to discuss what they might be ? Thanks.

^ I'm not MSJ but I can tell you that if he's completed with Ghost Rider then he can of course start on other projects. Directors often have 2 films released in a year and I've seen some come out only a few weeks apart by the same director. I think one year John McTiernan had 2 films in the same 3 weeks time frame. It's common to have directors already filming new projects before their last one is on the big screen. Of course when the movie does come out he'll be back here online since he's such a nice guy. :)
