Comics Asm#567

I don't think JMS had much regard for continuity, his run is a good example of a writer who wanted re-write continuity not accept it. I guess my biggest complaint is that JMS wasn't content to tell good Spider-Man stories (which he did with the MJ+PP reunion, May reveal, etc), he had to instead try and re-work/re-interpret/remake/redo so much of what made Spider-Man. That isn't someone who cares much for continuity.

You're seeing what you want to see. He was perfectly within bounds of continuity, with a couple of mess ups here and there, and stuff people LOVE to nitpick too much.

BND however is horrible continuity wise. DD and Spidey practically have no relationship at all.

You're always being mean and obnoxious to me. Sure I make it easy, but it doesn't give you the right to be a jerk. :o

You said ''if you ask me'', I simply said we didn't. I was only being civil in denying your invitation since all you offer is blind praise. Now if you could back up why you liked this issue I'd handle you differently.

You're absolutely correct about BND being a continuity mess, if it has any at all

I'm not making a point about that, I'm disagreeing with Styleshift that JMS was good with continuity. I thought he was lousy at it.

"If you ask me" is simply an expression. Nothing to get in an arguement over.

The mistakes he made were reasonable. where as BND freely make mistakes in the majority of the issues that i've seen.....even in it's own BND continuity. thats lousy.

Ok, give us some reasons why JMS was lousy at it than....
BIG reasons....and I already stated the black suit webbed to the gargoyle problem.

As far as BND goes, methinks "you're seeing what you want to see".

Give him a break mike. :cwink:
If you pay more attention to his posts you'll see he doesn't really like Ultimate Spidey.

If he likes the new ASM that's his opinion. but he's never said we're stupid (or even mocked us) for not liking the new direction. :o

Thanks, bud. :yay::word:

No problemo bro,
I'm going to get a little shut eye now.

I have to make sure I'm used to sleeping at nights again before I start sleeping in my college classes....again. lol.

sigh...I miss the days where my high school teacher's would let me sleep in class because I made all A's. :csad:

I was just messing around. Had I thought I was actually upsetting him I would've immediately stopped.

She's 12 years old and Peter left her to die against Vermin. I understand they whole he needed to save his friend thing but that is totally out of character in my opinion.

1) Peter did NOT know how old she was... neither did anyone until the last page.

2) Peter also knew that she had given Vermin a pretty good beating initially because of the way Vermin was scared to run in "his" tunnels; therefore, he probvably figured that she could fend for herself while he took care of Vin, who needed his injuries looked after. Vin's the innocent one who could have died... that makes him Peter's #1 priority in that instance.

That is true.
I just wish they could have showed Pete a little bit more than a "I should save her but..."
But that's just me.

It was left ambigious, Peter referred to her as "the girl".
but that term could be used for a young adult in some cases. :yay:

as TMOB said, she has shown she can beat vermin.

and it was pretty reasonable for Peter to leave her for death, the odds weren't in his favor of saving her, plus he had to worry about Vin who was badly injured. He's not going to risk his life for a super villain unless he is sure it won't put him in danger.

we've seen him do it before in just about every run I can think of, The first encounter with the Tinkerer, The kangaroo.

(especially since she thinks vin is Spidey)

really there was nothing wrong with this issue, i felt uneasy about Pete hiding his secret from DD who was a close friend. but it wasn't that terrible. the only things that bothered me was [BLACKOUT]Peter walking into the police station so easily as DD, and Peter having his costume where it can be found in his room easily, after he's had a room mate put his life in danger before because of it.[/BLACKOUT]
