Comics Asm#567

She's an urban gymnast. So it's ok.

one other thing that doesn't sit well with me is the fact that Peter walked into the police station as DD so easily.

Can anyone give me the scoop on him?
last I heard is that he had it even WORSE than Spidey in the wanted department.

wow for as many complaints I've heard about JMS and continuity the only major things he did was get Aunt may's name wrong and have spidey think of ezekiel as the first time he's ever fought side by side with someone that has the same powers as him.

there have been SOOOOO many continuity problems for BND.
it's like there writing it for a bottled universe.

seeing pete talk to DD almost barely trusting eachother was VERY awkward.

^ Seriously, its ridiculous. I understand that marvel wanted to make Peter's identity secret again, but come on!! Did they really havta mind-wipe EVERYONE?? If Norman Osborn and Eddie Brock don't remember that Peter's Spider-man, then i'm seriously done with this "brand new day". Their knowledge of Peter's identity is what made them such vial threats against Spiderman. If you think Pete talking to DD was awkward, imagine how awkward it would be to see Venom or Green Goblin completely oblivious to Spiderman's identity. Norman and Eddie have both dedicated their lives to ruining Peter Parker, but if they dont know who he is then what is the point of them? What makes them any less different from shocker or rhino, other than a super-villain who wants Spiderman dead?

It would have been better if they went and said, ok since peter and Mj weren't married...Peter didn't unmask.

but it would still have negated some things...oy my head hurts.:huh:

If marvel can make sense of all of this they must be some genius' stroking cats up there. :o

And let's all have some fun about the few weeks hidden between issues of ASM that Gwen got pregnant and ran off to have twins...

JMS had little to no regard towards continuity...

:whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

:csad:

The babies age quick.

I was referring to the 6 months of having a big pregnant belly that was somehow absent from the books... as well as any gaps in issues where Gwen never appeared were not there...

True, I think he was unsuccessful in making people believe that the time period was a blank slate.

(I own those back issues :yay:.)

but at least he DID go back and look at it, I think he was a bit careless in his research...but to say he has little to no regard for continuity is stretching it a bit. :csad:

the DUMBEST thing JMS did was the whole black suit webbed to the gargoyle for years plot.
but how else was pete on the run supposed to find a stashed costume in time for the movie? it was a cash in event, because JMS even said OMD was supposed to happen during that time.

i think we all can agree that title goes to Bendis. whom creates his own continuity :woot:

Yes... I personally think all the BIG name hot shot writers typically do not like to work within continuity because it affects "their" storytelling...

Warren Ellis is bad for continuity as well.... though brilliant with his own creations.

The biggest writer that I can think of that paid attention to continuity is Alan Moore... and if Dan Slott had a bigger name, I'd throw him on that list as well.

:yay:

Grant Morrison is a continuity buff also. :yay:
correct me if i'm wrong (i'm really not sure on this one, even though ironically he's one of my fav. writers.)

but from what I've seen from him thus far he does no his continuity on these characters.

This is the first ASM arc I've bought since BND started and while I didnt care much for the first two issues, I enjoyed part three. I'm a Kraven fan and geneology is a hobby of mine, so I liked that both were a part of the ending. Besides, it gets confusing with all of these kids of Sergei's showing up. I guess his jungle serum has the same effect on offspring as the Goblin formula.

As for Ana speaking French, I assume she was born in France or had a French mother. After all Kraven was a world traveler and he seemed to leave a trail of kids where ever he went. Vladimir was born in Russia, Alyosha was born in Africa and I have no idea where Ned Tannenbaum was from. With a name like that, probably Germany or the US.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing Kraven's family tree.

My only complaint? Sergei once mentioned that the Czar himself once bounced him on his knee. The Czar was killed in 1917, but the family tree says Kraven was born in 1918. I know, thats really picky. :o

Yea this is probably my main reasons for liking the arc as well lol :hyper:

Just out of curiousity, didnt Alyosha say that Vladimir was his half brother? If the dark haired woman is Sergei's wife/lover, I hope they remember she didnt birth all of his kids.

EDIT: Yeah, Spectacular 251 says Al was Vlad's half brother.

Yea Al's name is probably on Kraven's side of the family tree, which we cant see

If he's even a proper member of the family. It always seemed that he was left out there in the jungle. Sergei didnt have much to do with him.

I think about this stuff way too much.

One could argue that these stories we have now ARE fallout from the unmasking.

Unmasking led to May being shot.
May being shot led to OMD.
OMD led to BND.

Had Peter not unmasked, we would be in a very different place now.

I suppose. But it's still not the same impression we were led down. I'd much rather see something that's in continutity properly instead of something that's...manufactured to someone's motive.

A divorce/separation would be cliche but a whole lot better than a deal with the devil.Albeit, I would get tired of seeing the Mary Jane annoyed wiht Peter angle.

Heck, i'd have the clones back to 're-mask' Spidey!

I don't think JMS had much regard for continuity, his run is a good example of a writer who wanted re-write continuity not accept it. I guess my biggest complaint is that JMS wasn't content to tell good Spider-Man stories (which he did with the MJ+PP reunion, May reveal, etc), he had to instead try and re-work/re-interpret/remake/redo so much of what made Spider-Man. That isn't someone who cares much for continuity.

Anyone notice that in this issue peter left his costume kinda carelessly?

you would think he would have a new plan for hiding his costume since his roommate was tricked out on LSD and found it. other than the police love dare devil. and the 12 year old daughter of kraven giving spidey a hard time thing....this issue was fine.
