"Asteroids" Film Scores A New Scribe

F. Scott Frazier ("Autobahn") has come onboard to pen a rewrite of Universal's action-adventure film adaptation of the popular 1979 Atari arcade video game "Asteroids".
The game features a spaceship in an asteroid field, with the player's objective to shoot the giant rocks hurtling at it in order to avoid destruction.
Matt Lopez, Evan Spiliotopoulos and Jez Butterworth all wrote earlier drafts, while Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing.
