I would call myself agnostic more than anything else, but I do believe religion, in it's various forms, has been the single most destructive device in the history of our existence. I really can't respect those who view religious faith as little more than some insurance policy for the afterlife. In many regards, I feel not even death holds the answers to these questions ultimately anyway. Because if we die and there's no storybook afterlife, it still doesn't necessarily mean to me that there absolutely was no intelligent creator. It just means the stories in whatever denomination you claim are just that, stories...

I don't want everyone to be atheist. I'd be very happy if every theist became a deist.

When was the last time deists went out and killed someone in the name of their vague concept of some sort of higher being?
