The issue is that one side speaks through reason and skepticism while the other speaks through faith and confidence. And indeed, at their core, these two lines of thinking are incompatible. Though that doesn't mean what one side doesn't get through to the other. There are some people who will never change their mind. There are others who will, and then there are others willing to reconsider certain parts of what they believe depending even if they'll never fully change their minds on it. It all depends.
