'Austin Powers 4' in the works?

I figured this franchise was plenty dead. I won't overstay my welcome by being pessimistic but I'm passing on this one. The thing is 2 was good but it mimicked the 1st one so much it felt like I was watching the same film. And when they did go the route of an original story with 3, it sucked.

So either 4 will be a funny rehashing of 1 & 2, or 4 willbe different and unfunny.

I liked the third one. I think the problem for the franchise is that the jokes just started getting really repetitive. I'd probably still see the 4th one though.

Nah, I think that's pretty common, villains just tend to be more interesting IMO.

at least he tryed. maybe it was a bad idea to make love guru but it was not a sequel. it was a new character for him.

look there will allways be bad and good movies. Love guru is a bad movie. but it is not a pathetic prequel,sequel,.....

I kindda hope he makes it more dr.evil centric this time around, i mean i know its called austin powers, but doctor evil is right up there with Wayne Campbell as his greatest character imo. You can tell that he really put his all into the role, i think he actually shaved his head, at least for the second and third ones (u can see the "five'o'clock shadow on top of his head lol)
