Austin Powers 4

No thanks on this. 2 was mediocre, and 3 just plain sucked. 2 was amusing at points (and fell flat at others), but 3 just fell flat. Only funny thing in 3 were the Austin Powers movie scenes where Tom Cruise and other actors were playing the characters. That was funny. Rest of the movie, not so much.

I love International Man of Mystery though. That movie is hysterical.

I don't see the point in making this. As pretty much everyone has said, the movies have gotten progressively worse. I doubt he'll be reversing the trend now.

I always wanted Mike to play a Swedish or Dutch girl named Helga with big blonde pony tails and a weight lifting physique. As long as they don't make this one corny like the last one by putting in all your star buds...then it will be fine.

1 was great and 2 was good...damn I loved Fat Bastard and Mini me:o:woot:

I would make it a Dark and Gritty Reboot, to spoof Batman Begins, Casino Royale, BSG and all the updates marching under the banner of "Listen, we're serious this time!".

We see Austin's dark and troubled past that made him a womanizer, give trippy explanations for his teeth and his glasses. Make him seem "more human" moody and desperate. Create a no-nonsense Dr. Evil played by Anthony Hopkins or Vin Diesel. Hell, make Fat Bastard an actual cannibal. While erlier Austin movies spoofed the 60's and 70's spy movies, their silliness and the focus on sex appeal, the new Austin should spoof the filmmakers who try to legitimize silly properties by making them dark and "realistic".

The comedy should come from the fact that they play it incredibly straight faced. I would put some money down for Powers Begins.

As brilliant as that sounds, Meyers does not have clever satire like that in him anymore. Shrek 3 and Goldmember are proof of that.

In every Austin Powers movie, the Powers-girls have been worse after every movie. But I dont think they can possible manage to get one as bad as Beyonce. The way the wrote out Liz Hurley is one of the most ridiculous things Ive seen. Like the avents in the first movie didnt really happen.

LoL I've been waiting a longtime for Myers to do a Dr.EviL Perspective film. This is gonna pwn! Haaha

I don't think Myers should be judged by the Shrek movies. Lame as are, they're Dreamworks family cartoons, I don't think he has a lot of input. He just phones them in.

Goldmember had some good parts but totally fell apart, and became only a "funny voices" movie. but I think enough time passed since the last Austin movie, to do something partially clever like the first movie was.

Following the epic disaster that was The Love Guru, Mike Myers is going back to well and is writing a fourth Austin Powers movie with Baby Mama’s Mike McCullers. According to Nikki Finke, the story will be “very personal with a father and son theme loosely based on his own life.” That’s right, the story will focus on the father son relationship of Dr. Evil and his son Scott Evil, played in the films by Seth Green. I always found Dr. Evil to be the most interesting aspect of the series. But I think they have played out the character in the two sequels, and I’m very skeptical that Myers can create a funny fourth film without having to resort to cheap laughs like tons of celebrity cameos.

No studio deal is in place, but it’s a sequel and I’m sure New Line/Warner Bros will quickly give it a greenlight. But the real question is: has Mike Myers lost it? And more importantly to the movie studios, is Myers still a box office draw? I think the Austin Powers brand still has enough juice to attact audiences, at least one last time.

I am expecting a Wayne's World 3 announcement after the MTV Movie Awards reaction & after reading this

I wouldn't mind seeing this. I wasn't too big on The Love Guru, but I like the fact that this story is going to center largely around father and son.

Well of course after the flop that was known as Love Guru.

He's going back to the well that makes money. Just like a shrek 4 is coming out in a few years.

Doesn't surprise me that Myers is falling back onto Austin 4 and Shrek 4, plus I'm betting that the prospect of "Wayne's World 3" is looking real good to him right now...and especially to Dana Carvey. :woot:

He keeps going down this road and pretty soon he'll be just as pathetic as Eddie Murphy...

Kidding, no one can be THAT pathetic.

But "Shrek 4" isn't Mike Myers' responsibility. That will make bank anyway because it's Shrek. Myers doesn't have much to do with that, Dreamworks does.

After "Love Guru", Myers has himself backed into a corner. Creating a new character is too risky so his best bets are to revisit Austin Powers or Wayne's World. Maybe both. But I'd love to see a "Wayne's World 3".

Would be interesting to see what comes of austin powers 4. I would probably go see it. And it would be so sweet to see wayne's world 3. I to so thought they would do it/announce plans for it after mtv movie awards. Their skit there was funny as hell.

the reveal of dr. evil being austin's brother killed it.
