Mike Myers, who returns as the voice of Shrek in Shrek the Third, says that is developing a fourth "Austin Powers" movie at the same time as his next comedy, The Love Guru.

"We're developing a fourth [movie], entirely from Dr. Evil's point of view," Myers said. "That is part of what I've been doing in the last little while."

He'll start filming The Love Guru in August and continue to work on the Dr. Evil pic in his spare time.

i'd gladly pay to watch it, but the characters more and more became little more than charactures of themselves, in my opinion. they just got sillier and sillier.

Heard news tonight on E! that Mike is working on it and Gissele Bundchen is reported to have been contacted to be a Powers girl....I sure hope not. I would love to see another hottie that can act and rival Hurley in the first film unlike Beyonce and Graham.

EHH, the last one sucked ass. Beyonce was horrible. I heard some model chick from the movie Taxi will be his sidechick for this one. Id much rather see waynes world 3. Love Guru looks horrible btw.

Waynes World 3 would certainly have me more interested, but that's unfortunately very unlikely to happen anytime soon.

I would make it a Dark and Gritty Reboot, to spoof Batman Begins, Casino Royale, BSG and all the updates marching under the banner of "Listen, we're serious this time!".

We see Austin's dark and troubled past that made him a womanizer, give trippy explanations for his teeth and his glasses. Make him seem "more human" moody and desperate. Create a no-nonsense Dr. Evil played by Anthony Hopkins or Vin Diesel. Hell, make Fat Bastard an actual cannibal. While erlier Austin movies spoofed the 60's and 70's spy movies, their silliness and the focus on sex appeal, the new Austin should spoof the filmmakers who try to legitimize silly properties by making them dark and "realistic".

The comedy should come from the fact that they play it incredibly straight faced. I would put some money down for Powers Begins.
